remix of a 6/8 time signature track

Hi guys i am new in doing a remix and i ve got a question :

when you do the remix of a track written in 6/8 when you change the tempo of the part of the track used do how do you deal with the 6/8 time signature?

any tips?

I don't understand the question. If you want to change the tempo, leave the time signature alone, and simply change the tempo.

You want to record something new in 6/8 that's going into a 4/4 project? Is that right?

Well, then you remix it in 6/8! Or what is it you're asking?

You can also make it a 2/4 or 4/4 with everything in triplets, but that may not be practical or even musical.

If the original track is in 6/8, then of course the vocal is going to be in 6/8.

 

Whether or not you can remix the track and have it sound legit all depends on the feel of the vocal. So why don't you just change the time signature to 4/4, put down a four on the floor kick, and see how it sounds.

192/128 = 6/4

2 bars of 6/8 will become one bar of 4/4, with an eighth-note triplet feel. (1/12 quantization in Logic terminology). "Womanizer" by Britney Spears is an example, as was "Tainted Love" from long ago. That feel could correctly be notated as 4/4 (with triplets), or as 6/8, or as 12/8.

guys thanks for your help about time signature etc.the next question is when you make a remix.i am trying to remix fallin of Alicia Keys how can you find out the right bass pattern is a bit tricky for me....
