Maddcow
Hi all. I'm curious about the purpose of the CPU Usage slider in MainStage's Audio\Advanced Settings preferences i.e. why would you configure this to use less than the total number of cores on your machine? What are the pros and cons of using more/less cores? My machine is a 2019 16" MBP 2.4 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9 with 64GB RAM. In the 15 years I've been using MainStage, I've always just used the default MS CPU Usage setting of the max number of cores (current case = 16 cores) but I'm now wondering if I should lower the number of cores used by MainStage so that my machine runs more efficiently overall...thus also resulting in optimal MainStage performance. Maddcow
I’m a bit surprised that no one has replied. Is everyone just using the default max number of cores? I reduced the number of cores used by MainStage and found that my CPU usage went down a bit.
