How to get a new Keyboard Controller to appear in "Keyboard" dropdown?

I'm trying to connect my newly-acquired Nord Stage 2 keyboard to MainStage. I want to use the NS2's "External" feature to act as a controller for MainStage. But the sounds aren't playing. Here's what I have done so far:

- connected NS2 to Macbook with USB cable

- Audio/MIDI Setup shows the "Nord Stage 2" device in its display

- In MS, the MIDI tracer in the toolbar shows the NS2 note presses (MIDI channel 6), so I know the MIDI messages are getting into the software

- I click on a Channel Strip that was previously driven by my Nektar Panorama P6, went to the Channel Strip Inspector -> MIDI Input, click the Keyboard Dropdown, and it does not show the Nord Stage 2 (but it shows my other two keyboards, neither of which are currently connected to the laptop).

- when I press the notes on the NS2, no sounds are heard

I'm assuming this is because I have not (and cannot) select the NS2 from the keyboard dropdown.

Can someone please help me figure out how to fix this?

Thanks!!

Dave

Okay, I found the answer on YouTube:

I think the general idea is this:

Changing Keyboard Controllers

A. Just for a specific instrument

1. Select the patch on the left

2. Select the channel strip with the instrument on the right

3. View -> Show Inspectors to see channel strip inspector

4. select MIDI Input tab

5. select a different keyboard controller from the Keyboard dropdown

6. if your keyboard is not in the list, see the next section

B. For the entire Concert globally

1. go to the top of the patch list and select the top entry (for the whole concert)

2. go to the Layout tab

3. click on each keyboard in turn in the layout window

4. click Assign to make it turn red in the Screen Control Inspector

5. play a few notes on the connected controller. The name should pop up in the MIDI port. If it does not, go to the Audio/MIDI Setup app and start there

6. click Assign again to save

7. edit the name under Settings -> Name on the same panel

This should reassign all the channel strips in all the patches at once.
