Audio interface suggestions?

Recommended Posts

I'm thinking of buying a new interface, because the one I have (the old MAudio Fast Track Pro) has this weird behavior where it starts distorting the sound after a while and I need to turn it off and then back on.

My requirements:

- 2 inputs, 4 outputs (optional, but a plus, the 4 outputs, in case I want to use it as a DJ solution for an independent output)

- Independent headphones output and volume control so I can have the speakers in "mute", but still control the volume of the headphones.

- Something that doesn't need external power, so I can work anywhere where no power is available.

Other than that, something that's good enough in terms of quality.

Regardless of the budget, what are your suggestions? I'm not looking for something that costs $5,000 of course haha But something that's somehow affordable (up to $1,000 or so), good enough quality and meets those requirements.

Thanks!
