Johnny Flabbergast
I use Logic with a Scarlett 2i2 interface and a MacBook Pro. The Scarlett has two guitar/mic inputs, which is all I really need because I record vocals, guitars and bass on my own. I have a small Behringer mixer and I was just wondering if there are any benefits or reasons to including it in my set up. This is the kind I have: http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NTAwWDUwMA==/z/H4QAAOxyRhBS-ouG/$_35.JPG?set_id=
shivermetimbers
The bottom line is … no. The mixer like the one you have offers no extra benefit like an expensive Neve board would.
David Nahmani
The bottom line is … no. Completely agree. Ditch the mixer.
stardustmedia
Another no from me. That mixer is not worth the hassle. The only pro would be it helps you configure recording routings easier and you don't have recable all the time.
denitronik
Another pro would be that you can monitor with the mixer and get absolute zero latency.
Wolfie2112
I have the 8 channel version of that mixer, it is an integral part of my setup. My interface (Steinberg UR22) goes into the mixer, as well as the onboard sound output from the Macbook, and I also the slave computer connected (if I want to play an audio file directly from it). The studio monitors are connected to the mixer.
