danyg
Did you guys have any luck with connecting an external HD (Lacy style) just with USB to an active USB hub. The disk works when connected directly to the MAC Pro's USB port. But even when the USB hub is active (power supply) my disk is not recognised. Could someone make a certain model work? Wolfie2112
I have a 7-port powered Anker USB3 hub for my external Lacie....both connected with USB3 cables. Are you using a powered Lacie (ie; has a power supply)?
danyg
it's one of those orange ones. no power supply. I though if using anactive USB hub it would work, but nope
Wolfie2112
I have also had no luck using bus powered drives, I only use powered external drives now.

danyg
jesseklapholz, so what Hub brand and HD do you use ?
el-bo
You need to know how much the drive is drawing vs how much the powered-hub can supply. Keep in mind that the hub's power will be divided by the number of ports
