Drum Synth bug?

I was trying to control the Tone on the Drum Synth using the Step Sequencer, but it seems that the tone stays at 10.7% and even though I have all the steps at 51.4% and some are higher or lower than that, all the 51.4% steps stay at 10.7%. The ones that are not 51.4%, make the Tone knob move accordingly, not the others

Can you attach an example Logic project file here? I'll have a look. :D

 

Notice how the first 4 steps, even though they are at 0%, the knob itself is at 30%. Then the other ones that are at 0%, make the knob go to 0%.

It seems that when you program the steps and then you manually change the knob's value, it makes Logic go crazy...

I can't reproduce this here! On the other hand the very first hit is played the first time at 0% then with every repeat of the cycle it's played at 59% even though it should be 0%. :shock:

Yes that's weird that we're not experiencing the same. :shock:

 

Ok so I found, by accident, a way to go around this bug. Let me know if you experience this as well.

Open that project file again and see if the bug is still there (probably is).

Now delete all the blue automation steps (the main ones that say Step On/Off, then put them back on.

So first remove them, without messing with the automation amount:

Then turn them back on:

It works here. Go figure...

I was messing with an Ultrabeat patch and it was behaving the same way, then for some reason I disabled one of the steps and when I turned it back on, it started showing me the right value again...

 

I think I figure out what's causing the issue...

If you can, test it yourself and let me know:

Let's say we have all the steps with different values. Now, while it's stopped, change the plugin's knob to a value.

Now go to the step sequencer and while pressing ALT, reset all steps. Once you hit play, even though the value on the step is for example 30%, the knob will not change on the plugin. It's as if the 30% is seen as 0% (reset value).

I don't know if this is on purpose and if there's any kind of logic behind this or not... what do you think?
