mikerolls
Hi all, If I have a looping MIDI cell, any MIDI notes playing at the loop paints are immediately cut off - even though the note may be longer. This is quite annoying - I may have a loop with long notes which overlap, and I don't want any of them cut off early. Is there any way around this? I thought maybe I could extend the actual cell length, but that didn't seem to make any difference. I would have thought this was something that was quite common but I can't find any other info about it. Cheers, Mike
David Nahmani
As far as I know, that's the way Logic always worked. The cell is doing the same thing as you would by creating a cycle area in the Tracks area and having a MIDI region that fits the Cycle area: any note that overlaps the end border of the region is cutoff at the end of the region. A workaround would be to use a sampler and trigger that note in one-shot mode.
mikerolls
Ok thanks David. It's surprising there isn't a simpler solution, this seems to be a major limitation of using loops.
David Nahmani
You're welcome! Yes I agree it would be nice to have the option to be able to have MIDI notes that sustain over the loop point.
