jakealexander
Hi everyone, I used to be able to copy-drag a part of a region using the Marquee Tool without splitting the original region. However, since updating to Logic 10.7, it always splits, and there doesn't seem to be anything I can do about it. Is anyone else having this issue? Is it a bug, or do I have a setting somewhere that needs changing? Thanks!
Deif
Hi, This is a known issue and apparently Apple is aware of it. It’s been discussed a few times in the forum.
Solution David Nahmani Posted October 25, 2021 Solution Share Posted October 25, 2021 Deif is correct: it’s a known bug in 10.7.
jakealexander
Thanks for your responses, and sorry for not noticing that this issue has been raised before. Hope Apple get this fixed soon - my regions are getting cut to shreds!
woods101
Hi David, can you advise me where online I go to give user feedback to Apple? I'm finding this version to be the buggiest ever. I understand ranting here is not the right place.
des99
There's a sticky with important links at the top of the forum for these kinds of common resources. viewtopic.php?f=1&t=160196 Feedback is here. https://www.apple.com/feedback/logic-pro.html

fisherking
i also reported this in the OS beta feedback assistant; counting on apple to fix this with the next LP update...
David Nahmani
This bug was fixed in Logic Pro 10.7.1: Copying a Marquee selection to the Clipboard no longer leaves the original selection divided at the Marquee borders. David Nahmani
Wait a minute... still does not work reliably here. Here it does not work the first time, I undo the actions and try again, and it works the second time.
fisherking
david, it splits for you on the first try, not the second? (just want to be sure, since a looped gif is... a looped gif). here, it seems fine, it does not split the original waveform (i tried it several times). but will keep an eye on it. It happens once in a while, not necessarily the first time though. I narrowed it down to happening only when Flex is turned on for the track.
