Fine-Tuning Automation

I've been trying to understand/learn how to fine-tune automation that has been written.

For example, If I have a section of automation that is at -8.8 dB and I want to raise it to -8.0 dB, I'll grab the line with my mouse and raise it. However, in the example shown, It jumps to -7.4 dB or something else. It's very difficult to be precise.

I have an X-Touch One that I can use to write/revise the automation but that's not always the most efficient method. For example, if I have multiple sections in the track where I want to raise the automation by the same amount in each section, I don't want to have to play the track and adjust the automation. I want to quickly adjust it.

I'm fairly confident there is a method (or multiple methods) that I'm just not aware of.

I would love to be able to grab the automation and use my slider to fine-tune it.

This has been a source of "efficiency frustration" for me for a while.
