David Nahmani
Thanks! Merge my thread with this one? Sorry that's not possible (sent you a PM), but thanks for posting your announcement earlier than I did! I still can't see this update in the App Store. Has it shown up for anyone yet? No, and others have confirmed it doesn't seem to have been released yet. Marketing department out of sync perhaps?
vertibration
Maybe it was meant to launch same time as Montery but marketing sent this out now?
David Nahmani
Maybe it was meant to launch same time as Montery but marketing sent this out now? That's possible. Or maybe it was originally meant to launch today but the release isn't ready for prime time.
vertibration
Also, sometimes companies release in waves depending on the area. Maybe it will pop up tonight or tomorrow
Darude
macOS 11, so if you’re on Catalina still, like I am, it won’t show up. So people on Big Sur (Intel), any show-stoppers still around? Should I upgrade?
Deif
Just updated to 10.7 on Big Sur

Eon
But still no release notes I've added a screenshot of the release notes in the original post of this thread. This one is not complete. Deif
This Spatial Audio Demo Grid project is heavy on CPU! My 2016 Macbook pro can't play some of the live loop cells at 1024 buffer size. That's how they sell me a new computer lol! Update: All except "Bedtime Stories" seem to be running without system overloads now.

fisherking
both updates good here (logic and final cut). always fun to explore what's new... EDIT: someone else posted about this recently, but, either with logic 10.7 or monterey's "GM" release (which beta users got today)... the audio bin now shows a normal window when importing audio; that window, since monterey beta 1, used to stretch beyond my screen, and was unfixable. progress! des99
Separate MIDI input and output ports in the track inspector! Convert regions to pattern regions! Record into the step sequencer! Edited October 18, 2021 by des99
Eon
The biggest update for me is now we can make 90 degree automation curves without problems.
David Nahmani
The new interface looks... weird on a non Retina screen. Maybe it's just a matter of getting used to it?
fisherking
The biggest update for me is now we can make 90 degree automation curves without problems. that's been there for a while (i did this all the time, in 10.6)...
David Nahmani
Separate MIDI input and output ports in the track inspector! Convert regions to pattern regions! Wow, those are HUGE! Even the MIDI In Channel and MIDI Out Channel, now clearly labeled. No more guessing.
fisherking
The new interface looks... weird on a non Retina screen. Maybe it's just a matter of getting used to it? am sure we'll get used to it. i like it (but i almost always like change). it does, at first, look like someone's attempt at making a GUI that looks like logic... fwiw, (& i know it's a cliché), but 10.7 opens faster than 10.6. not that that matters much (or that 'faster' is that much faster). i can't wait for a version that opens as soon as i look at the app icon.... Eon
New GUI is interesting...but i have a feeling its still work in progress. A lot of stuff looks like unfinished. Maybe they didn't finish it for 19th apple event and will improve it in 10.7.1 later

Not a fan of the new interface either but it does look better on Retina.
des99
In what way is the interface different? Are you just talking about the top bar, or are there other differences? (Asking for a friend who might actually be able to one day run something greater than 10.5.x...)
David Nahmani
In what way is the interface different? Are you just talking about the top bar, or are there other differences? (Asking for a friend who might actually be able to one day run something greater than 10.5.x...) The colors are more bold and flashy, lots of electric blue, the buttons look different, the text looks different...
Deif
The colors on the transport bar when recording are bad.. They went from red to a pinkish color.
