guitboy
Hey, I have had a long-running annoying issue. I will record a midi region without touching the mod wheel, but there will be mod wheel data showing up on the region.. I have a komplete Kontrol. I have already sent it in once and waited for weeks for it to come back and the same issue was still there. I have done a lot of troubleshooting within logic preferences/settings. to no avail. Now Native instruments is offering to look at it again. What could I be missing? Why might this be happening? Please advise, Thank you, Jamie
David Nahmani
Sounds like an issue with the Korg, not Logic. Just to make sure of it, download Snoize's MIDI Monitor and see if your Mac is receiving Mod Wheel events while you're recording in Logic. guitboy
Yeah, I have done the midi monitor thing. It seems like it would be the keyboard, but like I said I sent it once into native instruments and they sent it back with the same issue. j

It seems like it would be the keyboard, but like I said I sent it once into native instruments and they sent it back with the same issue. j Let's try a precise, methodical approach. 1. Download this: https://www.snoize.com/midimonitor/ and monitor what MIDI events the keyboard is sending to Logic while recording in Logic. 2. In Logic, press Record and on the keyboard press and release one single key only once, then in Logic press Stop. 3. Post a screenshot of what Snoize displays, and a screenshot of the Event List of what Logic has recorded. angelonyc
Years ago I had a kbd that would put out 'midi jitter' (only the tiniest change) sometimes making the pitch wander the tiniest bit, but enough to be annoying and WRONG. Yes, David's post will help you solve that problem.
robinloops
I’ve had controllers that had issues like this. Boiled down to faulty pot in the mod wheel (or other parameter). if that’s the case, a temporary option would be to disable the mod wheel from sending data in the controller itself. If the controller doesn’t have the ability to ‘turn off mod wheel data’ you could try setting it to an unused parameter (if the controller has that ability). Thanks, I have already gone through this step and without touching the mod wheel, I saw several Mod wheel messages noted in the midi monitor. Thanks I have looked into that, but haven't found a way to do it. I have a Native instrument Komplete Kontrol A series. If I am wrong let me know, but I checked the manual and google and actually enquired in my back and forth with NI and have not found the ability to turn it off. enossified
You can filter the wheel out inside Logic, but that's a PITA to have to do that on every MIDI track. I'd ask NI for a new one and skip "looking at it" again. Either they can reproduce the problem at their service center or they can't.
