Group editing pack take folders not working

Hey guys, I've seen a couple posts about this type of issue and I've tried everything I can find but not getting anywhere..

In a fresh project, I have 8 drum tracks in a group, set to 'Editing' (not Quantise-locked).

All tracks have plugins. No sends.

Each track has a pack take folder with 10 drum takes.

When I change the comp on the snare track, it also changes the overheads but not the kick, toms or room.

When I change the comp for the kick track, it also changes the toms and room but not the snare or overheads.

So it seems that the 1 group splits into 2 subgroups when trying to edit.

There are no other groups in the project.

Wtf?

I've checked that all the takes in different tracks are the same length.. tried trimming them down to be sure.

I tried simultaneously cutting all the pack take folders shorter* to make sure they're the same length but still can't edit comps on all tracks at once.

I tried enabling Quantise-lock.

I tried unpacking and repacking pack take folders.

I tried removing all tracks from the group and starting a new group.

I tried copy pasting the pack take folders to a new project.

I tried turning it off and on again.

I tried really hoping that it works this time.

*Cutting one pack take folder DID also cut ALL the other ones in the group (!?)

Group-editing comps for all drum tracks still does not work though.

I recently recorded and mixed drums for a whole batch of songs with no such problem.

So this has got me stumped and a little frustrated.

Any thoughts on what to do?
