andymunro73
Hi there, Just bought a brand new MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2020, Four Thunderbolt 3 ports) 2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5 16 GB 3733 MHz LPDDR4X and migrated from my very old... MacBook Pro (13-inch,Mid2012) Processor 2.9 GHz intel Core i7 Memory 8GB 1600 MHz DDR3 Everything seemed ok at first but then putting It through it's paces on Logic Pro X I had heard weird sound glitches. The project would play but there would be pops and crackles in the sound. I tried playing other songs (i-Tunes & youtube) and the same thing happened. I noticed that the CPU Meter in Logic was showing some big spikes but also it seemed to be only using one of the 'chips'. I tried setting up a Test User account with Admin privileges. This account worked fine. I opened Logic and tried using the Billy Eilish demo track and had no problems. The CPU usage was shared out across what I assume to be the 4 chips and the problem just went away. So, during the migrating process some problem has occurred. Are my Old preferences messing up the New system? What's the quickest way to have my old preferences and favourites from the Old system but on the New Mac? Thanks for your help.
