hammerpocket
Every time I record on a software instrument track, the new region has its 'loop' parameter checked. Is this a setting that I unwittingly turned on?
Solution des99 Posted August 3, 2020 Solution Share Posted August 3, 2020 Yes. It's a standard Logic feature. Deselect all regions, then look at the MIDI Thru parameters, and uncheck Loop. Whatever settings you make here are applied to everything you record. It's a handy shortcut, and also gives realtime MIDI processing which is also useful. hammerpocket
That's it. Thanks! Now that I know it's there, it does look useful. Incidentally, after looking around Logic I had to google to figure out what you meant by "MIDI Thru parameters." I guess that's an older name for the part of the inspector that's now called "MIDI Defaults."
des99
Sorry, yes. Sometimes us long-timers get our terminology out of date, as we've been calling it one thing for 20+ years, and it changed in a version a year or so ago... When doing replies blind without looking at Logic in front of us (often when in the middle of doing other things too), it's all-too easy to pull out the more strongly-associated name from our tired brains! Apologies for that - anyway - you got there!
