logness
... only muted regions show grid lines, how can i see the grid lines inside active regions? (ctrl G removes them all)
Solution Eric Cardenas Posted March 26, 2018 Solution Share Posted March 26, 2018 You can't. You can however use the Audio Track Editor that has some transparency dialled in.
David Nahmani
Unfortunately it's not possible in the Tracks area. You can however open audio regions in the Audio Track Editor, which does show gridlines superimposed with the waveform. PS: I was 1 minute too late. Kim Olesen
A feature i’ve wanted for a long time.
niquekayz
I just purchased Logic Pro X today and I'm in awe that this isn't the default behavior, let alone something that can at least be enabled... Just checking, since this thread (and others asking the same question) are years old. Is this REALLY still a thing? Coming from Reaper this is like shell shock to me, but AFAIK pretty much every other DAW has this basic feature as well... How exactly are you supposed to line up your comps to your guide tracks...? Honestly I bought Logic for the sound library, I got a MIDI controller keyboard for Xmas, and that part of the app is great, but you can't even load the virtual instruments in other DAWs either, apparently... I'm seriously considering asking for a refund already lol
Kim Olesen
Still not possible.
Rkmusic
Still not possible. I wish they add this sooner rather then later. Can’t be that hard to add? Such a small thing but a big deal for some.
jsbaker
This is a vital feature, and its still missing?!!
David Nahmani
This is a vital feature, and its still missing?!! I agree that it's quite surprising.
Mechanica
I need this all the time when trying to align automation or make accurate marquee selections.
extrememixing
Add to that the ability to edit midi notes while comparing to audio regions. That comes in very handy with Pro Tools.

David Nahmani
For some reason Apple is incredibly resistant to this request Yes, I agree: not implementing this fundamental feature in a DAW software, at least as an option, makes no sense at all. Marcel
Hi everybody, so spread the word that every user you know writes a feedback comment to this case at apple.com/feedback. Probably it helps :-)...
StudioQ1
I switched from Ableton a few months ago. I hadn’t even noticed this. Until last night I was doing some vocal studder edits. Even zooming in with just the regions I’m slicing then moving. It was still insanely tedious to do. Grid shining through background at least with a toggle would be huge.
