slayboi
Something very peculiar is going on with Alchemy. All of my presets have vanished from the browser canvas. However, all 15 gb of presets are accessible through the 'Factory Default' menu. They just don't show up in the browser canvas anymore... just out of the blue! Things I've tried: ...Restarting Logic ...File - Refresh Library ...Logic Pro X - Sound Library - Reinstall... ...Reinstalling Logic ...Restarting computer ...Deleting Logic cache ...Making sure search bar is empty ...Making sure all categories have 'All' selected ...Double checking read & write permissions on Alchemy folder ...Reinstalling macOS Sierra ...Repairing disk utilities I can't think of any other solutions and I've looked everywhere online for an answer. What can I do?? This is driving me crazy. ____ Just to show you guys what I'm dealing with. Edited August 25, 2017 by slayboi

maceasy
Check your sound library is up to date, and reinstall if necessary.

Solution slayboi Posted September 1, 2017 Author Solution Share Posted September 1, 2017 Just in case anyone else is having this problem, try following these steps that fixed alchemy for me. Quit Logic Navigate to User/Music/Audio Music Apps/Plug-In Settings/Alchemy Delete "Alchemy_Preset_Ratings_And_Tags.db" file Launch Logic. Alchemy should force refresh as it did for me
alexbushilla
Hi, I just want to thank you for saving me hours of troubleshooting because this works. I have a brand new MacBook Pro late 2016 with fresh installed Logic X and this happened to me so it can happen to anyone. I searched around and luckily found this page in the first few minutes! angelonyc
I'll try it too. I've had the problem for quite a while, that the data for some Alchemy patches is missing, some patches work fine.. Tried deleting all alchemy data, and 'updating sounds'.. still same issue.. Finally I just abandoned using Alchemy..

David Nahmani
Hi, I am having this issue but all the steps given are not working. What about this? If your Alchemy window doesn't show presets

turbopump
Hi, Since I have the same problem and the solutions proposed did not work for me, but I found out what was the cause for me... here it is: I am using Google Drive (the latest version) on my M1 MacMini and I had just added the Alchemy folder to the Google Drive folders. It should have worked seamlessly but... I could not browse Alchemy settings any more. I eventually removed the folder from Google Drive sync, alas, and Alchemy resumed normal functioning.
