fisherking
ok, maybe i've been living in a bubble, but i do mostly midi-&-vocal work (pop/hiphop), and things go really well. today, started mixing a rock project; lots of live guitars, everything an audio file. and, early on, things were okay... but by late afternoon, every time i'd move something, mute a region, change something in the arrange window, it's been followed by a beachball. every time. even after rebooting, and turning off everything else. then i disabled amp designer, to check something with that guitar... and everything started working normally. wtf? will use a distortion plugin. i can see that amp designer is a 'deep' plugin, but do others experience this? (and am glad i found this out)....

fisherking
i can run one instance of it, but when i had 2 going, all hell broke loose. will explore this some more tomorrow... thanx for chiming in!
denitronik
I know this is not helping your problem but I can run 2 or 3 instances of amp designer (I haven't tried more than 3) without any quirks and I have a similar setup than yours. fisherking
am working this afternoon, and will explore the issue more, to be sure i've pinpointed the problem. complex mix, lots of audio, flex, automation... but it did seem when i removed the 2nd instance of amp designer, the beachballing stopped. thanx peeps
fisherking
i have one instance of amp designer, and replaced the second one with the pedalboard... and the problem returned. not entirely sure what's causing this. ugh...
