Not opened logic 10.5 up for a couple of months Topic is solved

Hi everyone I upgraded to 10.5 end of June and used it for a bit. Not opened Logic since, but now want to. But it won't open, keeps getting stuck eg: Screenshot 2020-10-31 at 22.21.53.png And "Application not responding" Any ideas please? Seems to be getting stuck on the plugins maybe? As ...

Re: "Some additional content is needed for this project" [SOLVED]

Ok sounds like you are doing everything you can. Sure you have but make sure the external drive name is the same as it ever was - exactly. I changed the name of mine to Music and it all went wrong. So back to boring samsung_t5. Also make sure you don't have any linked files things, a method used bef...

Re: "Some additional content is needed for this project" [SOLVED]

Are you sure you "re-indexed via spotlight"? I only ask as it's not always clear you have started the process when you probably have. And it can takes hours.

Re: Logic 10.5 on mac 10.14.6 Mojave - Loading a new project makes the whole screen black

Ok solved :-) How to reset NVRAM https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204063 Shut down your Mac, then turn it on and immediately press and hold these four keys together: Option, Command, P, and R. You can release the keys after about 20 seconds, during which your Mac might appear to restart. Thanks for...

Re: Logic 10.5 on mac 10.14.6 Mojave - Loading a new project makes the whole screen black

No. And I just tried to open iMovie and it's happening on that. So maybe it's not just Logic Pro. You open the application and the whole screen goes black, like it's turned off. But you can work out what is going on behind it from the touchbar buttons but you are completely blind. Can use keyboard s...

Re: Logic 10.5 on mac 10.14.6 Mojave - Loading a new project makes the whole screen black

Ah yes that didn't work, sorry. The video recording software didn't record the black screen. Kind of makes sense. But after I opened another project it makes my computer screen go black.

[SOLVED] Logic 10.5 on mac 10.14.6 Mojave - Loading a new project makes the whole screen black

Just a simple request to open a new project and the whole computer screen goes black. I know it's normal behind that, as I can use the keyboard to command Q and then the touch bar to save or not to save. Once Logic is quit, I see my screen again.

Any ideas please?

Re: Elements of a track - Reference sheet

Fair point. I was thinking of a cheat sheet and a reminder of things you can do to the different elements. You know what I mean, you must have some processes you often apply to different elements 9 times out of 10.

Elements of a track - Reference sheet

Hi. Does anyone have or seen a PDF or some sort of reference I could use to see the elements of a track (drums - kick, hats, percussion. Bass, chords etc) and what typical affects you can apply to them (compress your kick), how to EQ them (remove lows from hi-hats) , group drums. Be really handy as ...

Re: Control surfaces - How to make the midi controller affects the parameter even when not on that track?

Thanks, but that doesn't work. Well it does until you create a new channel after and it breaks it. I can send you a video to explain it a lot quicker.

But can you try it and check please. So does the points in post 11 and then create a new software instrument track. Knob fails.

Re: Control surfaces - How to make the midi controller affects the parameter even when not on that track?

Thanks David. I think we are getting there. I just want to assign a filter knob to a channel effect and where ever I am in logic I want that filter to change when I turn the knob. At the moment that doesn't happen by default. I have to return back to that channel for it to work.

Re: Control surfaces - How to make the midi controller affects the parameter even when not on that track?

So I set up the assignment like you said, but then when you click on another channel the knob doesn't operate the filter in the other channel.

Re: Control surfaces - How to make the midi controller affects the parameter even when not on that track?

Thanks David, I am able to make that work now.

But when I go to another channel it doesn't. Would you mind explaining that again? Odd LPX does this by default. You would have though that most users wouldn't want to be on that channel when changing something by midi controller.

Re: Control surfaces - How to make the midi controller affects the parameter even when not on that track?

Ok David. Videos help explain the problem a lot better than images and text and in more detail. However I understand it doesn't help your SEO. Please remove all video links in my posts. So back to the question, what you have both said doesn't work. Can you show me it working please? In images and te...
