  1. Thanks David. Is it possible to actually specifically instruct the arp plugin as to the order notes should be triggered in? Or is it just using the knobs you’ve referred to?
  2. True - but that requires you to select across all tracks. It's just not the same function as what I'm describing in Pro Tools or Reaper. Like I said in my post - I get that it's possible to do this in Logic - it's just not as simple as in PT or Reaper.
  3. This is a question that's been posted here and elsewhere in years gone by, but I wanted to see if there's a new answer after all these updates. I'm editing multitrack dialogue for an audio drama in Logic, and it would be SO useful if I could set it so that if I delete one region, all tracks shuffle left to fill the gap. I know technically I can create a cycle of the region to be deleted then go to Edit/Cut Section etc, but it's not the same in terms of efficiency as the way Pro Tools, Reaper or I assume various other DAWs do it. Currently my workflow is just to delete the region, then highlight all to the right, then drag them back with the 'Drag' mode set to crossfade, but I'm just constantly reminded of how much more efficient this would be in PT or Reaper. I do love using Logic more than those though, and it's so much better for me in so many other ways, which is why I'm hoping to get it to work for everything I do.
  4. Thanks! That’s a really great idea. I do have Time Machine constantly running so will give that a go. What do you mean by iCloud not being recommended? I have Dropbox constantly syncing my projects as well - would that be harming something?
  5. I could but I've done WAAYYY too much work since I would have deleted the track to lose it all. And anyway I've since closed Logic and reopened (post was a day ago)
  6. I've deleted a track by accident and can't find a backup with the deleted track in it. I have tried to find it by going to the File menu then Revert To, but the only backup showing is from one minute ago - and I've been working on the project all day and saved multiple times in that time. I can see a bunch of backup metadata files in the package contents, but I'm not sure how to open them in Logic. Any help would be great.
  7. I'm using Logic on a couple of different computers, for sound design, music composition and audio editing - all of which are my job. I'm finding that Logic is increasingly unreliable and at least once a week I am spending a couple of hours just going through this forum and Youtube tutorials figuring out how to open corrupted projects, or just open any projects at all. I'm not sure what else to say except that I'm using MacOS 10.15.7 (Catalina) and Logic 10.6.1. I know I can't get Logic to reliably keep multiple projects open at once (which is a pity as it would be great if I could). My computers are a 2018 Mac mini and a 2019 MacBook Pro. Should I upgrade my OS to Big Sur? I've been avoiding doing so until all my plugins etc will be OK with that...
  8. Thanks - trying this now to see if it happens without the controller connected. What do I do to fix it if this is the issue?
  9. I'm experiencing this with both midi and audio regions. I'll bring in an audio clip from Splice or I'll just write a new piece of midi from scratch, and some how the volume has little automation-like glitches (like the audio will cut out, or the midi instrument will go softer or louder). Is this something others have experienced? Any ideas? I'm on Logic Pro 10.6.1 on Catalina.
  10. I see tutorials on Youtube with people with huge Logic sessions with hundreds of tracks and the tracks are all rainbow coloured, cascading in colour sequence etc. I know how to manually change a track/region colour, but is there a way to automatically have any new track take on a new colour that isn't already used, and eventually have the rainbow effect? I hope so!
  11. Thanks all - I think JakobP's solution will work the best for me but they all make sense. I appreciate everyone's time.
  12. I work on lots of long form documentary audio, where I need to work around voice over script that hasn't been recorded yet (for example). In Reaper I used to be able to add chunks of text on clips along the time line, which made it easier to edit other audio around the bits that are still to be added. I just can't figure out whether / how that's possible in Logic. Any thoughts would be great!
