  1. That's a great idea. These 2019 mac pros seem to be a hell of a headache when it comes to replacing system disks. I'm leaning towards cloning the system disk, then nuking it. Then I'll have the time machine to import stuff off of if I need to.
  2. Hey Gang. After a lot of troubleshooting with Apple I've been advised that I need to reinstall Logic at which point I think I might just do a clean wipe of my computer and reinstall everything from the ground up. It's been 20 years of migrating and I think it needs it. That being said, what is the best way to go about ensuring 20 years of customized Logic channel strips/Library/exs instruments, settings etc get reinstalled with it? I've always found Logic's file architecture terribly non-intuitive. Thanks!
  3. I'm totally with you so far. I too would like to see how you implement this! This is awesome. -P
  4. Des99. I have no idea what you just said, but it sounds awesome I tend to fall off beyond the standard note, CC, and patch changes. Sysex has been a dark art the scares the hell out of me. David, I'm totally down to share, once I smooth out a few quirks. I've attached the entire page below. Thanks again. Specifically what I'm trying to implement in this particular case is create a button in the environment that will control the arpeggiator modes. Everything up to this point has been pretty straight forward CCs, but when it comes to things like the arp and VCO waveforms, it has this additional talk of enabling bits. This is where I'm getting confused. What's the deal with these bits? Thanks!
  5. Hey Gang. I've been chipping away at an environment for my Jupiter-6. So far so good with the sliders and most buttons, but I'm now getting into some deeper midi programming that's a bit out of my knowledge bass. It seems I'm getting beyond the typical "CC, Channel, CC Number, Value" world of midi, and into specific bits of the Midi signal. Apparently When using CC82, there's an 8 bit portion of the midi message that can be programmed with 1 or 0 to effect the arpeggiator mode in addition to the 1-15 Value it's expecting to see? (See attached Midi Implementation photo) This is where I lose the plot. Can anyone shine a light on what I'm missing and what exactly I'm not understanding? Thanks in advance!!
  6. hey! I have PT on a separate system, sending the midi over over an interface. And yes you are correct. When I TRACK ARM it, either remotely or directly within PT, it sends back a value of 127 followed by 0 when armed, then that again when disarmed. I'm trying to have a button respond to these dual midi messages so that one set of messages triggers a button in logic into an "On" state, and the second set of messages puts the button into an "off" state.
  7. Hey Gang. Something I've struggled with within the logic environment is button states. Specifically converting a momentary midi signal (CC127+CC0) to a toggle signal (CC127, then CC0, etc) The simple version is, I have a "momentary" button routed to a "toggle" button. I need the first momentary button to switch the second button on with a click, and off with a click. So the first midi event of CC127+CC0 turns the toggle button on. then the next midi sequence of CC127+CC0 Turns the toggle button off. Am I making sense? Is there a simple way to do this? The set up for all of this, is I work in Logic and bounce to Protools. I've set up a nifty logic environment that allows me to arm tracks and Record arm my Protools system from logic. Protools sends back a simple CC value of 127, when armed and 0 when disarmed which allows me to have a text button telling me that PT is armed or not. But when I arm the tracks, they send back a momentary signal of 127+0. If I can get this to read like a toggle value of 127, OR 0, then I can set up a text button that will tell me that my tracks are armed or not. I hope this made SOME sense. Nerdy. Yes. Pointless. Maybe.
  8. Maybe. Check your tempo list or tempo lane in your global tracks and see if there are any weird tempo adjustments.
  9. Something very similar to this happened to a friend of mine last month. That's why I ask. Check in your project audio browser on the right hand side to ensure they're the same sample rate.
  10. did you check the sample rates as per my suggestion above?
  11. You cold either group them, or make a track stack.
  12. Is it possible that you're having sample rate discrepancy issues? If your piano is a different sample rate than the rest of the project (for example your vocals are 44,1k and your piano is 48k) then the Piano will be slightly off pitch and tempo. Check in your project audio browser to ensure they're the same sample rate.
  13. Yea. That's what I've been doing. I was freaking out up until yesterday, as my logic preferences would automatically open the last project I was working on, unbeknownst to me, using up my "no crash card" making it extremely difficult to open anything afterwards...I'm working again now, but this seems like a pretty screwy bug.
  14. If I quit then reopen, then It loads fine, and no I promise I don't have any other projects open at the same time
  15. I've been dealing with intermediate issues like this for a few days now. If I boot logic and open a template/project, the first one I open always opens perfectly. But then all subsequent template/projects I open hang on the "loading project" progress bar about 50% of the time. It just hangs there. I let it run overnight once to no avail. If I force quit and then boot up, and load a project/template, it loads fine. Weirdly, it's every subsequent project after the first one that does this. I've run disk utility and disk warrior on all my disks. Recently reinstalled Kontakt (which did actually fox some crash on load issues I was having) Has anyone experienced anything like this?
