Thanks Atlas I absolutely know what your saying but I struggle learning especially written articles even consolidating commands/written information, I'm a real pain I know, hate asking you but is there any chance you could do me a huge favour and create a screen recording doesn't need to be technical at all or voice guided just a mouse cursor showing where you've clicked and showing when your writing in the box to change the length please, I apologise for asking I'm autistic I don't follow written sentances and or paragraphs that you need to combine in memory to give a complete picture that you can use to guide you, I require something short and baby layman's ideally a mouse on a screen clicking things and then I know when your typing in a new number for the bar length when I see the box appear and the numbers changing. I'm autistic I do not consolidate written guides or written commands at all but simplify something in a video I may well then absorb that. Sorry to be a burden asking. I never do anything by half either so I am not just autistic (aspergers mild) I also have a suspected dyspraxia condition which is basically a condition that makes you when it's mild in my specific case very hard to teach if not impossible to explain anything new to especially in writing I'm also confused easily with anything that requires the need to read it and absorb it and then repeat it back by memory, I have a supernatural ability/gift of the things I do manage to grasp but the caveat is actually finding a way for me to absorb and further more retain the things I am shown, but I am terrible with eg. written grammar and punctuation on a forum response msg like this eg. But then I am a computer repair technician 8.5yrs tuition hands on at a computer repair shop, I am unable to understand hz and all those logic video guides on youtube had 1 days tutition hands on shown, but I left the notepad I wrote what I was taught in and despite that somehow I taught my self with no videos or guides how to master and mix and create/produce music in logic, but ask me to word and or memorise a single way in which to do any of that without showing you by dragging/dropping/pointing and clicking and and sonible for equalisationI'm unable to, yet I have somehow made a template to master and somehow found and adopted some opensource plugins to A.I equalise for me eg. sonible balancer and a tool to compress and so on so I do not require memorisation to play a part using Molot compressor but I cannot follow a simple guide in writing you've linked to becuase my memory won't retain it all and I cannot consolidate it all it's like that saying in one aer and out the other but in a quite litteral sense.

Hi guys this is asked a thousand times before probably, so my wording is probably awful but I know you can drag the mouse at the play bar end and drag the number of bars much longer but when i do that it jumps back a number of bars so lets say eg. track length is the usualy auto set at 127 or 129 bars long length, I place the mouse cursotr at the end bar number point eg. bar 127 and I drag and it does start extending that length adding more bars making the play line longer, but no idea why but it suddenly skips back to the bar number i started with eg. it de-extends the length to bar 127 start point it will not extend the bar length to make my song longer, so question is... is there no simple way to just type 350 barsor type any wanted bar length for a song length instead of using this forced track length drag stretch sat at 127 bars to 129 bars that songs always open with, this would speed up my work flow exponentially and prevent me punching my knuckles through the screen and out the back of my macbook lid which I am seriously debating doing loosing my temper with it right now. I used to be a plasterer on building sites so i swore a hell of a lot we all do but this thing is making me swear worse than I have ever heartd or done my self it's just f bombs and mother somethings blurting out in rapid succession because this is just giving me the kind of itch I can never scratch it's p'ng me off to a stage I am going to snap my macbook and create a foldable book out of it it's infuriating.

Likely because they're also using samples that Logic can't find on its own, because the drive is ExFAT-formatted. Once you restore the drive structure to the way Logic expects and understands how to read it, that should come back. What you recorded is part of the project file itself, not the samples it references to generate the sounds. The drive is now formatted to the mac os extended journaled format type, the samples do not load into the projects still by them selves? And searching within logic does not find them using locate yet they exist and can be obtained by searching in finder, I need logic to do this so I don't have to also the parts hand crafted in alchemy synths and ultrabeat are also missing.

I have been able to find sounds on the drive but logic will not automatically search and find them yet manually typing in the sound name finds them adding audio files manually, the problem there is I have hand played parts in some tracks using say alchemy and those are missing and so are ultrabeat creations to so I have the ability to rebuild most of the track by hand but no way can i recollect nor can I re-enact the hand played or ultrabeat parts of a track?

Ok got you, I don't see it making a difference in re-aquiring sounds from the loop packs and applying them into a project though? If it doesn't what is the next step to try please any ideas? I tried test disk to recover the old partitions but they are not allowed if hfs or mac partitions in the windows version, and the drive does not show in windows unless it is connected over sata instead of usb the mac and windows do not display it as a useable drive on usb basically even though it spins and runs the drive is fine so are the usb caddies two different ones as used another drive that has other loops on and that connects just fine,weird?

Ok thanks so I should erase the loops drive and rebuild it what format type please? A mac os extended journaled or whatever it is is no longer an option in mac os big sur they renamed them all to some other partition label APFS is it I dont know? Don't bother with the disk utility since upgrading I am assuming it won't make a difference but I can try it on whatever you suggest it needs to be.

The drive is exfat to work on both apple and windows all it is is that logic won't locate the sounds in the external drive and they must be there because some of the missing names to locate I can absolutely agree are on that drive 100% others might not be but either way it locates 0 of what it should When you run a search for file names in particular, it comes up with no results searching within the usb hdd but you know for a fact the sample file is existent on that drive with that name and it's just logic won't search it out for some reason. What I am trying now is to re-install test disk and scanning the previous loop drive to try and recover a partition and see if that does put the drive back as was if not I am stuck.

I had to erase everything i am on big sur, added a new hdd full of the loops and right clicking the loop browser icon or anywhere in loops or the untagged hdd name for the loops drive all fails to display an option to re-index the loops in untagged loops or in the general apple loops tab the same thing i must re-index them all to get them to be detected as I am not planning on manually one sound by one sound sifting through 10's of thousands of sounds to locate them by hand please help me, my projects are unusable until the loops are found on this new usb hdd with them on? UPDATE: Found it sorry it's hidden away in descriptors go to the bottom of the list and choose re-index, but the main issue now is choosing locate doesn't find all the sounds for the song it still wants manual interaction from a confusing list how can i auto locate and put everything in place? I have a rough idea why half the projects sounds are not present as a named region, and that is somehow i had accidentally infused the one external hard drives loop collection into the logic loop browser they became proper apple loops before wiping the os, and for quite a while I continued building songs using the loops in the loop browser like normal apple loops that way, so it may be that I have all sounds split between the two loop hdd's I have now instead of half built into logic's loop browser I'd like to understand how to shift them out of untagged into the main loop browser again that would probably fix it all i suspect any ideas how please? Or there are two nuclear options, option 1 erase the original drive maybe loose some important stuff although i suspect all the content is migrated, and just copy all sample loops off the hdd's to that 1tb drive which they all will fit on as currently using 2 smaller driver eg.60gb and an 80gb. Or option 2 try to add the the sounds from each drive by hand searching missing sounds and rebuilding them into the songs one by one with the same adjustments fades etc, but the likelihood is that isn't going to work as I can only utilise one single hdd at a time and when one drive is connected and the other isn't it won't be able to access the missing content ever?

I assumed this was going to be simple script you open and apply by accepting something asked. But it is extremely confusing on about cables and switches I don't have the first idea what any of it is to be honest? Is there no simple sustain lock option through commands as there is a tab key labelled sustain in the piano but pressing tab does nothing so don't understand what its even there for if it cannot be used. I need a way to lock a key on permenant for drones and I resorting to bluetack which is rock solid to make work

Is there any way to keep notes you play on without having to keep your finger held on it when recording drones etc in alchemy synth please, its annoying having to hold a key for a full songs length all the time.

It seems if its not just me? to have a form of synchronicity improvement now it has i could be wrong a little ever so slightly less noticeable click divide sound? If you were here to hear it in project format quality on the audio technica headphone it would be apparent. in many other tracks it is most common as an abrupt pop click combination as a sound ends then goes to continue to the adjacent block. It goes click a kind of higher toned tick with a pop in this is the most common sound, this sound is a lower bas synth kind of high tone building synth that end with a Hans Zimmer esque kind of dung deep bass but as it tails into the following high town after the join it goes mildly crackly but low volume as its a start of a synth bass/orchestral sound kind of fx orchestral and dark synth I do know messing in surge synthesizer modifying patches into my first sample pack, that this is when a tail off is it called is either incomplete ie. too early or it is created because a sound you make ends or begins with some kind of build and that build is a type of sound that creates overload or sound that won't complement the next start point sound in that creating a crackle hiss pop click or what ever or ending with prolonged empty sound before starting again to loop. When using surge i found some patches morph into amazing and truly wicked sounds and creating a track stack (a way to select software instruments so they play the same key presses together simultaneously0 with pads and keys you just mess around with in surge no idea what it all means or does lol but it can be just phenomenal sometimes for reasons unknown when I was recording that way or some specific synths you make up sometimes as you let the keys off on the note as you hear the gradual fading away and it ends, you click on spacebar to stop and save it and then when you play it back and the tail off you heard gradually fade never happens it plays so far into the sound and then it just abruptly stops, I think its likely these samples i sods law prefer to pick and try to join together are examples of abruptly ending during the recording phase like i experienced a few times? I have found it very occasionally in an odd sample library sound in logic pro x, i did call support once to ask about it popping sometimes stretching sounds in the library list, they were actually surprised and did ask could i let them know of the files that i notice if it does via email, but I lost the email see.
