  1. Looks pretty good, I'm currently evaluating upgrade to Mojave so I can use the new version. Sounds about right, replacing a nice useful feature like "wait for MIDI" with something that is clunky, hard to access but sounds sexy as hell.
  2. requires High Sierra or later. Useless...
  3. I tried to look into it but couldn't make much of it. Can you tell me where in the Environment one may find an object that controls the Transport? Not even sure I'm using the right terms. Clarify?
  4. Very useful for sound design and foley, among many other things. How hard can it be? Thanks, dc
  5. good grief. that tool's been around since the 80s! FEATURE REQUEST....!
  6. Is there a way to get LPX to "Wait for MIDI" in recording? I.e., set the app to record, it goes into pause mode, then starts recording as soon as it sees a MIDI event. Very useful when recording sound design or foley bits. I can't find it in LPX.
  7. I think I got it. I went into keyboard shortcuts and removed the cmd-U and U commands from the "Set locators by regions/events/..." etc. commands WITH "enable Cycle" and added the same key commands to the "Set locators by regions/events/..." etc. WITHOUT enabling Cycle. It seems to cause the cycle bar to behave more like I want it to. I'll road test it and see. Thanks!
  8. That command doesn't show up when I right click in the cycle bar. I get "Auto Set Locators" with a check mark next to it, and when I remove the check mark, it stops setting the locators altogether. I want it to set the locators but stop enabling Cycle. There is also "Set locators and enable Cycle" but not option to just set the locators without making it loop. Automatic enabling of Cycle is continually getting in the way of my workflow.
  9. Just clarified it above. I want to be able to edit and create regions without automatically setting them to play in a loop.
  10. Hi, I want to find a way to make Cycle STOP automatically becoming activated after recording or editing a region. I want Cycle to become active ONLY when I specifically click in its bar to activate it. Can this be done? Is there a setup file I can alter in Terminal or anything like that? Thanks dc
  11. I also noticed that trying to grab notes & region boundaries seems to be zoom-dependent, in that if I'm zoomed out on a target, the "zone" that allows me to grab that target (note or region boundary) shrinks with the zoom and the "grabber" or right bracket flickers and is very hard to use. I have to keep zooming in to adjust things and back out to see the phrase or region. (This is with the mouse unplugged, btw).
  12. Well after unplugging and reconnecting my mouse, I haven't noticed the flickering bracket icon. But there are a number of other issues: step recording no longer working as it did (detailed in another post); the old problem of forgetting MIDI inputs is back, and it just seems more unstable and crashy than before. Doesn't seem to like Kontakt much.
  13. Clarification: using keys to set duration etc., does not work if a separate piano roll window is the focus for entry or editing. Step entry can only be done in a piano roll editor within the main tracks window, and the duration selection keys work ONLY if all other numeric key assignments have been deleted (otherwise it keeps switching among screensets). If you focus on the editor window to make a correction, the step entry key shortcuts stop working until you again manually focus on the step entry window. Using the sustain pedal to extend notes works sometimes, sometimes not. This is a cumbersome mess - is it really supposed to work this way? I hope there's a 10.4.5 coming soon with a bit of sanity. Also, LPX seems unable to distinguish the numeric keypad from the number keys on the main keyboard. YMMV, since I am using an aftermarket keypad rather than the overpriced Apple model.
  14. Ah i'm glad you posted that, yes it's really annoying - are you using an Apple Magic Trackpad also? Just seeing what the common denominator is here as i'm sure there's a fix or many others would be complaining! Using MBPro with its own track pad and also an apple (non super) mouse. There are a number of "new features" that are wreaking havoc with my workflow.
