  1. Hi folks. 42 years in the making, this is my first album. It's fusion, I guess. Used Logic Pro and Native Instruments patches. I mixed and mastered it myself with lots of help from folks here and elsewhere, but with no professional resources or real, live people. I have some folks who's listening I trust, but would love to have input from y'all fellow Logic Proers. Thanks in advance for your time and efforts. https://denislarose.bandcamp.com/releases Denis Larose AKA Reverend Zim_ulator
  2. Thank you for your replies. shivermetimbers: yes, I think you’re correct. To be more clear,I have six songs mixed by me and mastered by LANDR.com. These sound OK, but not that great. I learned a lot about how I wanted to remix these. I am now listening to these six remixed and an additional four, which will be the songs in my first album. As with the first ones, I am hearing where some stuff overpowers other stuff. It feels like panning is wider than on other speakers. That may simply be due to the restrictions of speaker placement placed by individual vehicle designs. Eriksimon: thanks for bringing that to my attention. I think I’ve intuited that fact before, but am now aware of it. Next time, I’ll try to calibrate the bass for albums something like my stuff. Thank you both for your part in my education.
  3. Hello folks, I've been listening to my mixes and masters on headphones, a decent Logitec computer speaker system, a Bose system in my SUV and my ADAM monitors. Needless to say, the monitors sound best. In the real world, however, most of my listeners will not be listening to my stuff on studio monitors. Hence, I'm trying to reach a compromise position with my releases. So far, so good with all but my auto speakers. Bose is what came with the vehicle. Although Bose has always been my least favorite well know brand, the system performs adequately with most of my CDs from artists with a range of characteristics in their music, speaking in terms of mixing and mastering. I should try to find other car systems to try, perhaps mine is fickle. Has anyone been in this position, or know how others have dealt with this issue? Thanks for your time, Denis aka Rev. Zimulator
  4. MIDI Guitar 2 by Jam Origin is a hundred dollar software solution which I am really happy with. It does lots of cool stuff and it's a powerful plugin on many levels. Best feature? Super low latency. I use an electric classical guitar to drive it, and for all you'd know, I'm playing a Fender Mustang, or some crazy synth.
