  1. With a quick demo of the sound attached. JP10Gladiator.mp3.zip
  2. I tried to make an Alchemy sound ( I'm a newbie ). The idea was to make an agressive and loud sound, maybe some kind of trap sound, but I didn't succeed that much. I used this tutorial ( ) but the result is really different from what you can hear on this video. The result is a sound that can sounds sometimes bright but with random modulations that makes it look fragile sometimes. I'm not satisfied but I could use this maybe. If you have some spare time, have a look at it and let me know what you would do differently to improve this. Thx. JPLoud2Hesitating.zip
  3. What is "src automation" and "dst track"? Sorry if it was not clear, "src" was short for "source" and "dst" was short for "destination", I'll fix it in the post.
  4. MusicTechHelpGuy is my favorite youtube channel for learning logic pro. This guy is speaking very clearly and knows how to teach. I loved his synths tutorial series (Alchemy/ES2, etc...) . https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC21BwBKSKiPFbNvzl3-eh_A One more thing I learnt recently that used several time since then. It's not so gard to find, but I didn't even know it was possible, so I didn't google it at first. Sometimes I want to copy an automation from one track to another. Cmd-C on the source automation, and cmd-V on destination track. It works but usually the automation is applied a new random parameter of the destination track (except if the tracks are using the exact same instruments and effects). The solution is to pick the newly pasted automation paramater (which should be already the case if you just pasted it). Then press the cmd key while opening the combo list of all automation parameters of the current track, and select the actual parameter you want to automate. Very handy ( https://documentation.apple.com/en/logicpro/usermanual/index.html#chapter=28%26section=7%26tasks=true )
  5. Thx for the tip. Note that my goal in this topic was to control several tracks at once actually (apply effects, automations, etc...). Makes sense, thx. OK, that's really interesting tip, I'll try this !
  6. Actually it was a test song I made to understand how applying effects/filters on grouped tracks work, and I deleted it. I forgot to say something in my previous post. Using a bus instead of "stereo output" for 2 tracks in a test song, increased a LOT the CPU use. After doing this, I couldn't play the song more than 2 seconds without the "cpu warning" popup. Once I removed the bus intermediary (sending those 2 tracks directly to the stereo output), the song was playing fine again. So it's really a great option on the paper, but not usable for my config (mac book pro late 2011 2,4 GHz Intel Core i5, 8GB).
  7. OK, finally after so long, I made it work. The screenshot above was correct except that when the bus 18 was muted, there was still audio sent to bus 3. So to mute completely the track I had to turn off bus 3 (to make it look like bus 4 on the screen shot).
  8. Finally I solved my Alchemy Bright Majestic Waves sound problem ( /viewtopic.php?p=682498 ), and as I really liked this sound, I wanted to make a song with it. Note that I started logic and music making in general 3 months ago, I got absolutely no feedback so far, so any opinion will be very appreciated. Here is the compo : https://hearthis.at/jp44-eo/cosmic-waves/
  9. Ok, I experimented a bit more with this. I upgraded to the last LX 10.3.2 (on mac os 10.12.6) It seems I posted a bit too early this question, sory, but I learned something in the process. I had another track (custom Alchemy sound), that was in mute mode. And I didn't know that muted tracks consume as much CPU as other tracks. When I removed this track, I could play 3 tracks with the sound "Bright Majestic Waves" , so it's not problem anymore. My other sound was probably the problem. Which brings me another question by the way, is there a way to really mute a track for the CPU too ? That would be very useful to work on busy parts of a song when the cpu is a bit too much used.
  10. The ram is probably not the problem as it used to work fine. The other apps are working fine, so it's probably not related with a hardware problem neither. So probably a problem with logic pro which is in an instable state. If it was me, I think I would try to uninstall logic, uninstall all plugins, and reinstall. But wait the advice of other people, maybe they know how to fix this more elegantly.
  11. I read a lot about this "CPU overloaded" popup. I got it sometimes in song with lot of tracks and things going on. But recently I tried this "Bright Majestic Waves" sound in Alchemy, it's a very cool sound but I can't even play it alone, always this "CPU overload" popup. When I try to play a song with only one track using this sound, the popup appears again. I guess I have to forget using this sound, but it seems weird to me that only one sound can put my macbook pro on its knee. MacBook Pro (13-inch, Late 2011) 2,4 GHz Intel Core i5 8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
  12. I was watching these wonderful Alchemy tutorial series ( tf-Ny2CF9no?list=PLXmi76euGSyxA-daJK3fmXX-P5C1KJt2m" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen=""> ), and as an exercice I made this Alchemy sound. You'll probably never use it in a song but t's fun enough to share, so here it is. (sorry the demo sound is laggy, my laptop was suffering a lot when screen recording + playing alchemy in logic pro...) Mario.acp.zip
  13. OK, I'm a noob, but here is my thoughts. I don't like too much the sound you pick for the first part, but the sound of the second part (at 0:45) is really interesting. If it was ma I would have kept this sound for much more than this small part, and play with a cutoff filter to add some variations and nuances.
