  1. EDIT : Fixed computer specs. Hey redgreenblue! I'll go ahead and post a pic or two to this response so you can check out what the CPU meter in Logic is showing as well as the Activity Monitor. As far as my hard drive is concerned, it's definitely not near full at all. I have a 1 TB drive and only 96 GB is taken. My session drive has 953 gb free and all my samples stream from a Vienna Ensemble Pro Machine that hasn't been touched. But just to be sure I checked all the drives on that machine as well and nothing alarming popped up. Sorry for not having my specs, I apologize for that. I am on a 2013 iMac - 2.9 Ghz i5 processor w/ Turbo Boost 3.6 Ghz - 16 GB DDR3 Memory and I upgraded from 10.10.4 to 10.10.5! So my RAM should be fine. But maybe not. Haha. I'm pretty sure I reset all of my preferences! But just in case what are the ones I should be resetting? Thanks a ton!
  2. Tempo changes are your best friend during scoring to picture! Even if it's within the same cue. Often times whether I'm scoring a film or a trailer, I will use tempo changes like crazy if needed to make sure I'm with the picture / scene still. Even if it's not massive tempo jumps, if going from 64 bpm to something higher as @sonsofnarcissus said above, then definitely do it!
  3. "Fate and Hope" from the Terminator Genesys Soundtrack by Lorne Balfe starts this way. Well the intro is ambient then it kicks off with percussion and grows into a melodic piece that gets bigger as it goes.
  4. I should probably note that I also messed with the buffer settings as well. I'm getting 50% CPU usage or more even at 2046 buffer. Should've noted that above.
  5. Hey there! Hoping I can get some help with Logic Pro X. I tried pretty much every single method and came down to creating an account and asking you all for some help and hoping it can get fixed. I updated to Mac OS X 10.10.5 the other day and all of a sudden I'm having severe CPU usage while using Logic. It doesn't matter if it's 20 midi tracks, just audio or midi and audio. I created a new session to see if it was just my old sessions affected and it's not. I've disabled plugins one by one, reset my preferences, tested different audio drivers, removed plugins, reset my PRAM and user Cache, reset permissions and even did a fresh install of Logic to see if that was the issue. In short I've pretty much tried everything I can think of and nothing has fixed this. Nothing has changed in my system except for the update to 10.10.5, so I'm pretty sure there's something going on in my system that is causing this. I'm pretty sure it's not a hardware issue as everything was working right until the OS update. Hopefully you all can help me figure out what's going on. Thanks so much!!
