  1. FYI - Go to prefs>users/groups>login items (upper right tab) Use minus sign (-) to get rid of highlighted app Viola! No more Logic automatic start-ups
  2. From your description, it sounds like you have a box with one MIDI in and several outs (thru). You need a MIDI “merge” box - several inputs, one out.
  3. Looked there - “Open at login” was not checked. I checked it, then unchecked it / shut down the computer without any programs running. Half hour later, powered up and my computer launched Logic again! Thanks, anyway. facej - I never have anything running when I do OS updates, Logic updates, or any updates. Thanks for the heads up tho.
  4. Not quite sure where to post this query, since it’s not entirely Logic related. For the past couple months, every time I do an OS update and restart, my IMac starts Logic automatically. Periodically, I do a reset of SMC or PRAM reset and it will happen then also. I’ve looked in the “startup items” folder and it is empty. Any ideas where to look to stop this? Not a big problem, but I’d like it to stop. Tanks.
  5. Calling people names on a 13-year old post? Hope you feel better.
  6. Go to “LogicPro” prefs (NOT project prefs) >>General>> Notifications Try “Reset Warnings”. Now, when you drag a SD MIDI file into a track, you should get a choice as to use tempo information or not - choose not to.
  7. Check your preferences/notifications. Normally, when dragging a MIDI file from Superior Drummer, Logic will ask you if you want to bring in tempo info or not. You might have turned this notification off and Logic is always bringing in the tempo info.
  8. Go to page 8 of your owner’s manual - it tells how to use the mixer software of your interface. I don’t know if you downloaded the software already or not, but it must be somewhere - a disc? Steinberg’s site? Automatically loaded in?
  9. Perhaps they are “grouped” in the mixer ?
  10. Is it the same type of track (audio vs MIDI, etc)? Maybe save as a patch?
  11. I have EZBass and it has worked fine through its original version and a later update. Worked fine on 10.4.8 and 10.5.1. Did you run it as a stand-alone before using it in Logic? I remember ToonTrack recommending that (and I did).
  12. Also, you might check your notifications in your prefs. I had a similar problem with MIDI files, and discovered that my prefs were changed to “never” ask to change tempo, just do it automatically. Changed it back to “ask”, all was fine after that.
  13. Try putting the output of your ext. instrument to the audio track, instead of output 1&2. Also, that audio track track should be stereo, not mono.
  14. I’ve managed to stop the influx of email notifications. Don’t know how I accidentally subscribed to the Logic forum, but it’s leaving me alone now. Going to look closer at that second area you cited. Glad to see you responded to this post, so I could see if I got a notification about a response - which I didn’t. Tanks, Skijumptoes !
  15. For the past few days I’ve been getting a lot of emails from logicprohelp notifying me of any new topic being posted. Didn’t change anything in my account. I used to just get notified if someone responded to a post I made. I got into my account (like an hour ago) and, I think, shut off all notifications except “private message”. Also, I marked dozens of messages as “read”. I guess I’ll see in a little bit if it stops - but, was this the thing to do?
