  1. I was thinking more along the lines of naming conventions and how you quickly find an old sketch/idea you want to revisit. I've actually also tried keeping all of my sketches (which are usually just on piano) as individual tracks in a single Logic 'ideas' file. But thats also not an awesome workflow.
  2. I have a folder called ideas and I'll save a Logic file when I stumble on something cool. So I'll have something like Cool Beat and then Cool Beat 2 and then Sketch in C Minor and etc. Well, after you get a bunch of these, they are hard to keep organized. I'm curious for suggestions on how others manage their ideas and sketches?
  3. Hi. Let's say I have 4 midi tracks each with an instance of Kontakt. Violin, Viola, Cello and Bass. Now I want to record a cc value, say cc1 for dynamics, and I want it to be the same in all 4 tracks. . Is it possible to record the automation into all 4 tracks at the same time? I selected and armed all 4 tracks, but when I recorded the automation, it only recorded into 1 of the tracks and the other 3'a regions were replaced with references to the first track. Anybody know if this can be done and how? Thanks, EG
  4. volovicg - you got me thinking so I did some further testing. Here's what I came with (for future searches). It's fine to create a folder in the Templates location via Finder - but.... you can only go 1 folder deep. If you have several sub-folders in a hierarchy, the New from Template dialog will not find those templates. In my case, I just dumped the AudioGrocery templates into that folder and it never saw them. But when I make sure all of my templates are either in the root Templates folder, or 1 level deeper, the dialog finds them fine. So - that seems to be the way it works. EG
  5. If this is helpful, here is an example of what I am talking about. I've attached 2 images - a finder view of what my templates folder looks like and a snapshot of the Templates dialog in Logic.
  6. Ok - how about this. Could somebody with a config similar to mine (Logic Pro X and OS X 10.10) create a folder in your templates folder and drop a template in it and see if Logic will let you get to it? I'd love to get this qualified to see if this is just not possible in Logic, or maybe broken on my machine. Thanks!
  7. Hi - I reorganized my templates folder to have some subfolders. However, Logic's dialog to Create From Template only shows the templates that are in the root template folder. It doesn't show my sub folders at all. Is this normal behavior? Thanks, EG
  8. Thanks David. I'll give the low latency mode a try. Curious - since I'm still trying to understand the signal path - would the fact that turning off the plug-ins doesn't eliminate the delay be a bug in your opinion? I thought that turning off the plug-ins essentially eliminates them from the signal chain and would like to understand if this is just a problem in Logic or if I'm misunderstanding the signal chain.
  9. Hi all - I have a channel strip I'm experimenting with on my output. I borrowed this from another project I was using to learn from. I notice when I add this channel strip, any midi input lags. You can see this with the built in Steinway from the library. I haven't quite figured out which of the effects makes it lag (I'd be interested in any opinion) - but here's my real question: Even if I disable all of the effects in that channel strip, I still get the lag. The only way to get my midi input responsive again is to reset the output channel strip. Can anybody explain why disabling the effects is not sufficient to get my input responsive again? This is on 10.0.6 (on OSX 10.9.2). Changing audio cards did not have any effect. I've attached the channel strip in case anybody wants to try it. Thanks. Std Output.cst output channel strip
