  1. Ok. I did that and I'm pretty sure it sounds close to the same. I think the real problem is Battery. It sounds WAY different in battery, like there is a high pass filter on it. Thanks for your help
  2. It seems to be this way on all of my projects
  3. The samples are 44.1, 24 bit and the project is 44.1. I have disabled all plugins.
  4. I have noticed that my samples sound different when I play them in Logic than they do when I play them directly from the finder folder in which they are stored. I noticed that they sounded different when I was loading them into NI Battery, and then I tried loading them into quick sampler, and then finally I just loaded them into an plain audio track. The results were that the samples seem to lose clarity when I load them into logic, they just sound different. Is there a reason why this is, and is there a fix?
  5. Good suggestions. I have been using Arturia Pigments 2 mostly, but I have tried it in multiple other synths (wavetable). Gacki, I think the question "Is this something where the bass is up front and should be easily recognizable" is definitely applicable, because the bass line is the main element, it drives the song. I would say the arrangement I am going for is sparse, with the bass element being up front and heard. Ozinga, I will try the doubling technique, that sounds interesting. Pigments also has a harmonics engine, I might give that a try. I did put some saturation on it, but it didn't seem to help. I am not sure my saturation plugin is that great though, and I am actively seeking some other options for saturation, I just haven't found any that l like yet. Fisherking, when you say "lower midrange", do you have a specific frequency range you have in mind?
  6. I wrote a baseline that's in-between c1 and c2. C1 is the Lowest note and for the life of me I can't get it to sound good no matter what I do. I think it might be too low for a midi bass to really sound good at all. The only other option I know of is to maybe play it on a live bass. Anyone have an idea?
  7. I was using my second computer because my main computer was being worked on. I got my main computer back and it is able to enable patch merging. I don't really care too much about the other one. Thanks for the reply!
  8. Is there a reason "enable patch merging" is greyed out on my project?
  9. When you press the plus button to add a new track, there is a box that you uncheck that says "open library". It's on the left side.
  10. I also have an issue with Logic not recognizing my midi controller. I have an AKAI Max25 and an Alesis V21. I usually have to restart my computer to fix the issue. I just purchased a new 2019 mabook i9 and this computer (although as a whole it runs Logic much more efficiently) seems to have more of this particular issue. I have the custom transport window open and I'm not getting any midi in and out info coming up.
  11. Ok, yes this makes sense to me now. Determining what key a composition is in is even more difficult when the key changes within the song. The would indeed be difficult for Logic to determine. Thanks for the replies.
  12. Thanks for your reply! That is actually helpful. This way if I am playing a weird chord I can figure out what it is. It doesn't, however, tell me what key the song is in.
  13. I found this thread by searching for the same question. I also play guitar and I usually find the key that way, but I wanted to find a quicker way by just looking at the piano roll rather than getting out my guitar and plucking around. It seems that there should be some really easy way of figuring this out directly in the piano roll, but it doesn't seem like this is an option yet.
  14. Thanks for the advice. I will try it out!
  15. Thanks for the reply. I am using headphones most of the time. I have several pair and they do the same thing.
