  1. hi all, I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this, but figured I'd check anyhow in case I'm overlooking something. I know that MS is capable of receiving changes. However, there's just no way for it to receive beat clock, correct? I know that hoping for some type of Ableton link connection between even logic and MainStage is wishful thinking at this point. Since the introduction of live loops, I've started using logic for live performance, along with MS as as the FX processor. I'm trying to see if there is any way to line up the clock and downbeat with Logic being the master. Thanks.
  2. greetings and salutations. Wondering if anyone can help me with this issue. I have a couple of external midi instrument channels in my logic sessions for sending out midi info to my processors. Pretty straight forward and works well. However, every time I hope the session, the MIDI destination on both channels have changed to a different source. I've even tried saving them as presets and the same issue still occurs. Is this a weird midi environment setup that I'm unaware of? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  3. Awesome. I'm glad you got it working. I remember it being a pretty big pain when I first programmed it too. It's the most versatile and programmable foot controller out there in my opinion. So I definitely hope they make a standalone version of the editor too. And I didn't know about the Chrome based editor. Thanks for sharing it. And thanks for checking out my site and the kind words.
  4. So I've got mine set up so that all the bottom keys start a loop when pressed once and it's fully lit, and a second press to dim light fades and stops loops. I've also programmed the A and B to do various functions in MainStage and have a couple of nectar MIDI pedals attached that control various volume/other parameters. I remember programming it wasn't the easiest by any means, but it's a pretty deep pedal. These are the last notes I wrote down for myself when trying to figure everything out. Let me know if this at all helps with what you're trying to accomplish and if not, let me know and I'll do my best to help. Programming steps: After you have activated more than one Step from a control, from the 'STEPS' option in the Control Edit menu, turn the Data Encoder to select 'TYPE'. Stomp Switches [1]-[6] now represent Steps 1-6. The LED for the Stomp Switch which represents the Step which you are currently editing will be lit red. The LEDs for Stomp Switches which represent active steps will be lit white and the LED for Stomp Switches which represent inactive steps will be lit blue. Now, with the 'TYPE' option selected, the LED for Stomp Switch [1] should be lit red, which indicates that you are editing step 1. If you have activated Step 2, the LED for Stomp Switch [2] should be lit white and pressing that Stomp Switch should result in the LED turning red (the LED for Stomp Switch [1] should now be white). At this point you are editing Step 2 for the selected control. A common point of confusion is the meaning of the flashing LED. The Flashing LED is not related to Steps, rather it indicates which control is currently being edited. So if the LED for Stomp Switch [1] flashes on and off, it means you are editing Stomp Switch [1], if the LED for Stomp Switch [A] is flashing, you are editing settings for Stomp Switch [A]. http://support.nektartech.com/Support/pacer-support/Activating-and-Editing-Steps-Pacer
  5. Thanks! I was able to figure it out. Works quite well.
  6. Hi all, I know that with the transposer midi FX, i can alter scales. But what I'm trying to accomplish is to alter individual incoming notes with scripter to be able to play different scales with a single octave keyboard. That way, unlike in the transposer, I'm not limited to just 5 notes on a pentatonic scale. I'm new to scripter. Is there a way to transpose individual incoming notes? thanks for your help.
  7. I use it with great success. Using the up/down buttons to change patches and the others to start/stop playbacks. Took me a bit to edit, but their tech support did help me. Let me know what you're trying to set up and I can hopefully help.
  8. Ok just added it. It's bizarre cause I have deleted everything associated with the old UA-101. Thanks again.
  9. Thanks Eric. Tried it and still getting the same thing. Any other suggestions? I appreciate it.
  10. Hi All, I recently upgraded to a new Roland Audio unit since there was no Sierra support for my old Edirol UA-101. I went through all the proper steps to get rid of the UA-101 driver and all the additional components on my mac. But no matter what I do, when I start up logic 10.3, I initially get "The previously selected audio interface is not available", even though I've changed the audio core to my Octacapture. Does anyone know what I need to do so this message doesn't come up every time? I appreciate your help. Nima www.NimaRezai.com
  11. Hello, So I've got a pretty big list of my favorite logic X loops that I've got marked as favorites. Is it possible to transfer this list to another computer? I just want the same loops favorites list of checked samples to show up on my laptop as I have set up on my desktop. Thanks for the help.
  12. I figured there was no way to change this and it makes sense why you applied the option-control method in the book. Thanks for your help David and really enjoyed the book.
  13. Hello, So I finally migrated to logic X and even though I've been on logic since very early on, I decided to purchase David's book and go through the entire training from the very beginning. Fantastic book by the way and taught me a lot. Now here's a small issue I'm having. I've always been used to holding down the Option and Control keys to get access to the zoom tool. In Logic X, when I hold down the option key along, the zoom tool comes up. This is very frustrating since the Option key is very commonly used for dragging and copying. As far as I can tell, there's no way to modify these keys. So, how can I go back to having the Option-Control keys bringing up the zoom tool and not just the option key alone? Went back to logic 9 to test it out too and it works fine there the way I expect it to. So it's not a keyboard issue or anything. Any help would be great appreciated.
