  1. Hey there. Just curious why my user channel strips that I create do not get saved with the sends that I add to them. For example, if I choose the logic guitar patch "broken up brit" and add sends to it, when I try to save it as a new custom patch, it only includes the factory patch's original send. How do you create a channel strip setting or a patch that includes your custom sends? Thanks
  2. Only see corresponding note values, not drum names of the kit. Thanks
  3. What I've learned. When a (3rd partly only?) software instrument is on a track in a summing stack, and you click Learn in the top portion of the of the smart controls Inspector, you can move a parameter on your virtual instrument and map it to a smart control. However, when you click Learn in the bottom box of the Smart controls Inspector, and twist a knob on your physical controller, you will be inadvertently mapping a function of one of the plugins on your Summing stack track. Instead of clicking Learn in the top smart controls inspector box, you can click the little "disclosure triangle" in the Parameter Mapping section, then scroll down to the track on which the plugin you wish to automate is instantiated, find said plugin, then find the parameter and select it. Now, two f%&ked up things happen: 1) the control does map properly to your physical controller, but the smart controls window shows a different parameter moving than the actual one that is mapped( it shows something moving from one of the plugins on the the summing track). 2) When you try automate using the knob on your physical controller, it does not work to record automation! Even though you see it moving the parameter on the plugin, and see the parameter's automation line moving up and down in the background of the automation lane, it will not actually record automation. But, If you use your mouse to grab the same parameter on the plugin, then it does record automation. Might have to just stop using track stacks and make old school summing busses instead.
  4. Thanks for the ideas. Seems that summing stacks are the culprit. This isn't a well known thing?
  5. Korg NanoKey Studio. My two NanoKontrol2's are there, main keyboard (nektar impact) and maschine. For some reason I don't see the NanoKey Studio, although it works to play notes, as I said above. And its knobs work with smart controls, albeit not properly, hence this post. Is there a way to just reset/rescan everything? maybe that's what needs to happen
  6. Setup window shows no undue installation. Control surfaces prefs tab does not include the controller I'm trying to set up. Bad? Said controller works to play notes so clearly it's seen by logic.
  7. Tried that.. made sure the list was empty, tried mapping to two different hardware units, same result.
  8. right... yeah, i opened it just to show the parameter that got mapped (not filter 2 cutoff as it should be). pretty bizarre
  9. Trying to map a control to a midi knob. First part of the process goes fine (learning the control) External control assignment, though... I move a knob, it gives me "input gain," not the control on the synth that I just mapped... ?? What am I missing? Thanks!
  10. Thanks for the responses. I use it when my guitar's level is in the yellow, but I need an extra boost to match Logic's output volume to some other much louder source I have playing simultaneously, like a tutorial site with multiple video chapters, each of which starts a new video with a reset, full volume. (first real use I've found for it ever! ha)
  11. I did a key command search for master, master VCA, master volume, etc, didn't turn up any results. Is there a way to set Logic's Master Volume (represented by the slider on the transport) to a keyboard control. I'd love to have it as the volume up/down keys, a.k.a F11 & F12 thanks
  12. That's the message from Logic.... Can you turn this off somehow? I have a massive template with everything I would ever need pre loaded. However, instruments and most fx plugins are turned off. When I click on a track, or a stack with multiple instrument tracks, it loads the plugins and I see the Logic window "loading plugins" and the grey Native Instruments loading window... The whole thing takes like a minute and breaks my flow. I'd rather it all loaded up on startup. Since the instruments/fx plugins are in the off setting, they're not taking Cpu if I'm not using them, right? So what would be the harm in loading everything on starting up logic? is it possible to set it like that thanks!
  13. Nevermind... was able to reimport them. All good. Thanks again. No longer dead in the water
  14. That worked!! But now Logic thinks we're meeting for the first time. All my custom key commands are gone...
