  1. Thanks for all the responses. Sorry about the late reply. Yes it is strange behaviour.
  2. How do I delete all region automation on a particular region? I am trying to right click and select 'Automation > Delete All Region Data' but this doesn't seem to do anything.
  3. Hey, I actually figured it out using this video and it work perfectly! Basically moved the following folders to an ext HDD, reinstalled Logic, downloaded the basic content then symlinked to the folders on the ext drive. /Audio/Apple Loops Audio/Impulse Responses /Application Support/Logic /Application Support/GarageBand
  4. I'm replacing my iMac HDD with an SSD with a clean install of El Capitan. I would like to know if there's an easy way to install Logic X on the new drive and point it to the already downloaded factory content that I currently have. I would really like to avoid having to re download 40+ gigs of data.
  5. Is is possible in Logic X to see MIDI from one region as a reference in the background while adding midi to another region. Right now I am able to select multiple regions and view all the MIDI together, but all the notes are editable so there's no way to lock a region that you only want to see but not edit. This would be really useful when drawing say a melody into one region while using chords on another region as reference. This is possible in FL Studio and is called a ghost channel helper. I've attached a link to a video that demonstrates exactly what I want to do in Logic. Hopefully someone here can tell me how to achieve this. Video Reference:
  6. Thank you guys. I think I found the culprit. The new Focusrite RED plugins turned out to be super buggy. Kept crashing and preventing Logic from quitting so I deleted them and it seems to have fixed all the issues. However, I'm still curious about Onyx. Do you guys use this regularly to do system maintenance? P.S. Signature updated!
  7. This is very recent so it can't be lack of memory or processor power. It's a software thing.
  8. Off late Logic X seems very sluggish. Constant hangs, spinning wheel of death, not quitting properly, plugins take a long time to load. What can I do to troubleshoot his issue? I've tried trashing preferences, resetting P Ram and deleting unwanted plugins. Can't figure out whats causing the problem. Will rescanning AU plugins help? Is there anything else I can do to speed things up?
  9. Is there a way to save my custom plugin arrangement in Logic's new plugin manager. I can't seem to find a save preset or export settings button anywhere.
  10. When I try to delete and AUX that is receiving sends from other track I get the warning saying "The selected Auxiliary channel (or channels) receive signal from an active Bus routing. Are you sure you want to delete them?". Now is there a quick way to find out which tracks are sending to this AUX? It's really painful to look through hundreds of tracks trying to locate the one that are sending or have been routed to the AUX that I am trying to delete.
  11. what if I already updated to 10.1? could I just take the 10.0.7 app file from a friend or would that not work?
  12. Ya definitely seems to be a bug. I have found a temporary workaround though. 1) Route tracks to an aux (e.g. all drums to bus 1) 2) Select all these drum tracks and create a folder track. This makes a VCA fader and adds all selected tracks to it 3) Select all drum tracks, click on the VCA assign box and change to none. You now have the convenience of collapsing multiple tracks to hide tracks you're not currently working on. You have auxes to do buss processing and your VCA slots are free to do some other cool stuff like riding automation on a selected set of tracks. AND you can solo FX auxes and listen to just the return.
  13. I use track stacks to group sections of my mix. i.e. drums stack, guitars stack etc. My FX auxes receive audio from various tracks within the aforementioned stacks. Now I like soloing my FX auxes when processing returns as this allows me to better hear any offending frequencies or buildups. The problem is, the moment I solo any FX aux I hear no audio and the meters aren't lit up, which means there's no sound reaching the aux. If I go ahead and flatten all the track stacks, then I'm able to solo an FX aux and hear just return. I love working with stacks as they make the work area a lot cleaner and organised, but this one issue is preventing me from using them. Does anyone know how to fix this?
