  1. Yep, and I took your advice and removed it fro the relevant plug-ins folder. Grateful for the pointers.
  2. Yep it is pretty self explanatory but If I wanted to register and use it, I couldn't lol, because as I mentioned the window is not accepting any keyboard input. Seems pretty useless to me and either a bug or a rather bizarre way of getting someone to pay for the full version! I have found the offending plug-in and removed it from the relevant library / audio folder 👍
  3. Here's a strange one. I have had a small break from music making and when I returned to use LogicProX once again, I appear to have a Synthmaster Player plug-in causing me grief. Each time I launch LogicProX, I get this message appearing but the unusual thing is, the text entry areas won't allow me to type anything!! I then have to click the red close icon and click a further OK button to get it to disappear. I've not bought it, as it's the free version of the player, but I have no idea how to remove it and stop this annoying pop-up from appearing every time I launch Logic. Any ideas please? Thanks
  4. Well, hello all. It's been a while since I have had time and been able to use my synths to create anything, so this last week or so I have made an effort to work on this cover of Resonance, by Immersion Theory. I transcribed the music by ear, and used LogicProX synths and Omnisphere to come up with what I think is a nice sounding ambient version of a gorgeous piece of music with some of the nicest - though simple - chord progressions I have enjoyed (each to their own though of course). I'd love your feedback please if you have the time to listen.[soundcloud] [/soundcloud]
  5. Hey all I have never been good at drums and often use the drummer track with Logic automatically creating the drums parts for me. I then play with the controls to adjust to my liking etc. However I am writing a piece that has some uneven time signatures within it, not overly complex, just a typical 4 bar loop being 3/2, 3/2, 3/2, 7/4 - the issue I have is that I can't seem to get the drummer track to create a track of this particular length. It either creates something a little longer or shorter. Is there a way I can get the drummer track to generate 3 bars of 3/2 then one bar of 7/4 (which is my overall basic structure). Any advice greatly appreciated. Ta all. PS: Keep well, and separate yourselves socially whilst this pandemic is raging across the globe. Love from Wales UK.
  6. Hi All So, I have got myself a replacement Macbook Pro, which is a 2.9GHz i7, and I need to get all my sounds installed again etc. I haven't been able to migrate anything across because of issues I had with the previous Macbook Pro so I am doing a fresh install of all my apps on High Sierra. I can access the HDD's where all my downloaded content was stored (wherever it was actually stored - not sure) and am wondering if there is a way that I can simply copy the LPX content across to my newer Macbook Pro rather than have it download - which is going to take several hours. Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks
  7. Hi All Just a quick question as I am about to upgrade the main drive in my Macbookpro from 350GB HDD to a 1TB SSD and I am curious as to if this will make any noticeable improvement in any items within LogicProX. I often get audio playback issues within LPX where the system maxes out and wondered if this might be due to read/write speeds of audio to/from the drive? I am upgrading for faster storage, boot time and general disc access etc and also sadly the 'I am unable to afford a new MacbookPro' reasons So wondered if this upgrade might improve things a little in the LPX arena? Advice/thoughts... thanks.
  8. Pretty intentional Eric! My voice... yuk!! Really don't like it but I had a go
  9. I did a short cover of the mellow section of Suppers Ready by Genesis. I always loved the chord progression in that section but I can't sing to save my life so please excuse the voice!!
  10. Thanks to you both. However, I am sure David won't mind my sayind... outstanding explanation Mike, thank you. So, that means the notes in the chord according to guitar tab site are: B D# F# plus the 11th which is E Still... on the actual track, I don't hear the F#, I am sure I hear a G#. Anyone care to elaborate?
  11. I have been listening to Elbow, Any Day Now - which is an incredible track, and wanted to have a bash at it on the keys so did a quick search on net for chords even though I could potentially work themn out form ear. The only one I can find is a guitar tab page, which lists a chord I can't figure out at all as it sounds nothing like the chord at the same point in the actual song. Can anyone please tell me the notes that appear in the chord: Badd11/E To me, at that point in the song the chord is a straightforward EMaj7th Ta
  12. Ah drat, sorry about that folks... I am sure a version of it will be available in USA. It's the live version of Carpet Crawlers, around 1977, the one off the album, Seconds Out, was recorded in Paris I think! I'm not sure he's doing volume swells, well at least not with his feet, as he is walking around on times during the track too! Eric: so what would the total plugin path be for that channel, please?
  13. Yes, sort of! Not quite endless, but one that continues at least without decaying too soon. The example I gave fits exactly i.e. Genesis' Carpet Crawlers live version on the album Seconds Out. You can hear it clearly in this YT version, all through... but if you need specifics; 00:53 1:20 1:52 3:40 etc etc
  14. Hey all I've had a break from my synths and making music for the sumnmer months (not that we actually had a summer here in the UK!!) and now that I have built my own custom music/synth/mac desk, and it's all set up again, I am starting to make time for some moooosic making! So, what I am after is this. I have an electric guitar that I dabble on, and I'd love to create a particular sound with the right effect for a section within a pseudo-prog piece I have started. I guess for the seasoned guitar experts in here this might sound trivial, but I have no clue! I am most certainly NOT a guitar player, never will be, as my fingers are way too fat!! but I can play the guitar to a level required of me to play the series of notes I want to create and record for this track. What I would like to create is a mellow, long, sustained type of sound that I can add heaps of reverb on to, and strum/pluck the required string to get the effect I want. It's sort of a series of long sustained notes on a single string, rising up a scale with pitch bends done by stretching the relevant string. The only sound I can recollect that sounds like the one I want to create is the gorgeous sound played by Steve Hackett on Genesis's Seconds Out album on the live track Carpet Crawlers. Like a gorgeous pad, but on a guitar! What I can't seem to be able to create with any LogicX effect, is this very long, sustained note. I wonder can anyone drop me some advice as to how I go about producing this type of sound please. I'm not after any strad or les paul similar sound as I know with my guitar I'd not be able to reproduce that specific sound, but any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  15. Mine too, can only drag upwards to a certain height, then no further.
