  1. Thanks for the suggestion. However the regions aren't locked. Also, You're correct markers created with "created marker" or "create marker rounded" (or whatever it's called) default to a zero length but markers created from regions should show the length of the region - which it does correctly as measures but not when viewing as time code.
  2. Greetings I'm using LOGIC PRO X 10.7.4 under Big Sur on a 2018 mini with 64g I've documented the problem in the attached video link. In brief: Sometimes when I create markers from regions and and view position as time and length as absolute position, some of the marker's end time are wrong some are right. If I delete the marker and recreate it by entering the time codes for the start and finish, the end marker will not accept what I entered. Weird, right? I tried creating a new project and importing the current one - no luck. I tried creating the marker and dragging the end point - no luck. There are what seems randomly some markers that refuse to show the correct end position. The reason this matters is I need the markers to be accurate for import to CueDB. As a workaround I can enter the correct time codes in CueDb but that's work I shouldn't have to do. Any suggestions on what to do about this? Is it a bug? 3. Duh. I must have thought the key command would only change the drag mode option and not do exactly what I wanted. My bad. Thank you for the good info. Cheers
  4. Greetings I seem to remember some daw that had a function where you could kind of "throw" a region to the next region on the same track. Sort of like the way shuffle works but only for an individual region instead of all regions on the same track. It would be something like "move end of selected region to beginning of next region" Is there anything like this in logic? Alternatively, logic has key commands to go to selection start or end, and key commands to move region to playhead position. Is there a way to move region end to playhead position? Thanks.
  5. I wonder if it's the AI that's creating variation because it's a different tempo. You could convert the drummer track in the original to midi and then you'd have exactly the same thing to copy/paste or insert as needed. Sorry I wasn't more helpful. Good luck
  6. You're welcome. I've had many a-Doh moments myself. Cheers
  7. Maybe try it this way - Close the project with the drummer track you're trying to copy. It has to be closed for this to work. Open your new project Show the "file browser", select "all files" (as opposed to "project"). Note - The File Browser may only be available with a key command, I'm not sure. Navigate to the file that has the drummer track you're trying to copy - Select the correct track, check plugin, instrument and whatever else and hit "add" What you're doing here is importing track(s) from an existing project into the currently opened project. Pretty handy trick if you're not using it already. ymmv
  8. Not sure I understand you correctly but here goes: First, duplicate and mute your comped track so you can always get back to it Next, highlight all the regions in the dup, click on the number next to the reveal take arrow and select "flatten" or "flatten and merge" What this should do is give you a single track with all your comp selects. You can add crossfades to all (if necessary) but selecting all the newly created regions. Hope this helps.
  9. Good question - I trashed both the logic10 and the cs prefs and lost all my IO labels in the process. After reading your question I restored the logic10 pref and it continues to work, and I have my IO labels back - thanks to another suggestion you recently made. So in short, it was the cs pref that seems to have caused it. Cheers.
  10. Solved - not exactly sure how but I trashed my Logic prefs and then they all started to play nicely with each other. Thanks to those who tried to help. Cheers
  11. So the S1 doesn't need the Mackie Control to operate. It runs as a EuCon device. It does allow for Mackie Control and I tried that but there's no "Edit Mode" option on the device. Thanks for the suggestions though.
  12. Greetings, New S1 user and it's like so many relationships- really interesting when new, full of unforeseen experiences and annoyances, and hopefully, at some point, comfortable status quo. Right now I'm trying to solve an annoying "feature". When I select an instrument track on the S1 it automatically opens the instrument window in logic. I'd prefer it if it didn't do that. Screen gets really cluttered and it's distracting. Any solutions? Cheers
  13. Thank you for the response. Yeah, I was surprised to see it. Somewhere along the way I must have hit the Dynamics on some track. since I've never used that parameter I didn't know how it worked. Cheers
  14. Greetings, I've been using Aux tracks for what seems like forever and just noticed there's a Dynamics setting in the Region Parameters. It goes from "fixed" to 400%. I can't find any reference to it in the manual (10.6.2) It seems to be defaulted to 400%. What does this do? I can't seem to figure it out. Cheers
