  1. Hey all, working on mixing a project for a client. They have a software instrument track set up with one of the drum kits loaded in and existing midi regions with data in the project. The hihat notes aren't triggering the hihat sample, although when i press the corresponding key on the piano roll keyboard or play it on my midi keyboard, it plays. If i create new notes for the hats, those will playback fine. All of the other drum elements are playing back no problem. I've attached a video to outline the problem I'm facing. I've tried creating a new software instrument track, loading a drumkit on there, and moving the existing midi regions to that track with the same result. I've also tried cutting all of the hat notes and pasting them back in the region with no luck. Any idea what's going on here? Thanks. logic_issue1.mp4
  2. Hey all, I'm having this weird issue where every time I duplicate a track or create a new track, it's automatically frozen. This is a headache when I'm trying to dupe a track with a software instrument or create a drummer track as the software instrument will just not load. Is there a setting somewhere I'm missing? Can't seem to find how to have it not default to this. Thanks! I'm on Logic 10.7.3
  3. Welp, it's not letting me upload. Said the compressed file was still too big.
  4. Got it, that makes sense. Here's a current file that is having this behavior. not sure if my saved point will show what automation lane I'm talking about, but it's on the track entitled "Synth Melody Riser", and the lane I'm running into this is "Arp Rate All". I have bar 118 on a cycle, and playing it from the beginning of that cycle will not play the automation at beginning of cycle. It will sometimes play it on the subsequent passes.
  5. I'm sorry, not quite sure what TBA and RBA are.
  6. Hey all, So here's what I'm running into. I'll be cycling, say, a 4 bar loop. I'll have automation snap on, and will snap an automation point to the downbeat of the first bar of the loop. When I start playback, or if it loops and repeats playback, it won't register that first node of automation, so if I'm looping trying to get the automation the way I like, I'll have to either start the cycle a beat or bar before or move the automation node just past the downbeat. Any way for logic to register those in that situation? I'm thinking that seems like a chase feature, although can't seem to find any settings about chase regarding automation.
  7. Ah, thank you. Sorry, looks like this has been addressed many times. I appreciate it.
  8. I’m having some issues with the “catch playhead” feature in logic. As far as I know, I have catch turned off in all of the places I possibly can, in the arrange window, editor window, and logic preferences. It seems to randomly turn on after certain actions and I can’t figure out a pattern to it. I’ve included an example of it randomly turning on with all of the preferences unchecked. Is there something I’m missing? This, paired with logic’s weird way of showing piano roll content has really messed up my workflow. Thanks for the continued help!
  9. Ah, great thinking. I knew there had to be a simple way. Thank you for your help!
  10. Ah, ok thank you for the info! Is there a way to create default settings for smart controls that you know of?
  11. Hey all, this is a multi leveled question, and logic's midi assign has always sort of confused me, So I have a Komplete Kontrol m32. The 8 encoder knobs are automatically mapped to first 8 corresponding faders in the mixer. First off, is there a way to permanently delete these mappings and not have to redo it every time I start a new project? What I want it to do is to automatically assign these knobs to the smart controls every time I load a new software instrument. That brings me to my last question, is there a way to customize smart controls for each different logic virtual instrument so every following time I open an instance of that instrument, it will automatically load that customized layout I made for that instrument? Would be great to know every tIme I loaded a synth, a certain control will be dedicated to parameter a, and another to parameter b and so on, and my keyboard's encoders will always automatically be mapped to those controls? I hope that made sense, I'm not sure if I told it in a way that did. Anyways, thanks!
  12. I have one of those, but it wasn't helping enough by itself. That being said, now I use the gel part as a way to prop my logitech mouse up so it's more vertical, which is way easier for me personally.
  13. Wow, very interesting. Seems like this is a problem many have but also seems a bit inconsistent across OS versions maybe. I changed to the Logictech M570. Wish I could use the apple mouse as in general this has severely affected my speed and workflow, but my hands were suffering big time.
  14. Awesome, thank you. I ended up finding a similar app called smooze that adjusts scrolling speed. It's interesting, because I had scrolling all the way up in my mac preferences and in the actual mouse preferences. Vertical worked great in logic, but horizontal did not. Worked fine in all other applications. I think it's just an odd bug in Logic unless I'm still missing something. Having Smooze on has fixed the problem though.
