  1. Hi, I have Googled my heart out trying to find the answers to this, but haven’t found an answer for my exact situation. I have to export individual audio files for mixing/Mastering. The Stereo Output needs to have -5.0db of headroom. I organized all my tracks into Summed Stacks and used the faders of the stacks for mixing my song for demo approval by the library. I also sometimes used VCA faders for extra volume control. I know that the main sum track fader and the VCA fader don’t affect the volume of the exported audio files, but they affect the Stereo Output peak meter. What’s the best way to make sure my midi and audio channels within the stacks equal -5db or less on the Stereo Out (essentially bypassing the VCA faders and the main stack track faders) so that when the engineer imports the audio files he has the -5db headroom? Thanks! Scott Edit: Forgot to add I'm on macOS Catalina 10.15.7 and LPX 10.6.1
  2. Atlas007 - That would be really ideal! I haven't read anywhere how to program MainStage to issue program changes (I would also need control changes). Do you have a link that I could refer to? Thanks!!!
  3. I just downloaded the latest version a few days ago. I contacted the vendor, but it was this weekend so I'm hoping the reviews saying they never got back to a customer aren't true. I think that you are right about the PC value being seen as 0, so I'll have to play around with that. Thanks!
  4. Hi ankely - I did purchase it, but it keeps crashing on my OSX Lion and won't pull up the song with the program change of 1, so I was looking for an alternative if there is one. Other than having my iPod on standby
  5. I definitely want to work with Logic, but I need something to close the current project (song) and open the next project (song) in the set list from a midi foot controller. That's my dilemma
  6. I have created all of the backing tracks for my band's songs in Logic Pro 9 (some are MIDI instrument tracks and some are audio tracks). In those same projects I have the MIDI control changes and program changes for my and my singer's MIDI guitar effects units. From my understanding MainStage 2 (that comes with the Logic Studio suite) does not work well with the MIDI tracks (both musical and informational). I downloaded a recommended app OnStage to control bringing up the Logic projects via my MIDI foot controller. It seems to be an unstable app and keeps crashing. Is there anything out there that I can use to quickly change between Logic projects on stage? Or am I misinformed about MainStage's abilities? Thanks!
  7. You are correct - I don't see the crossover in the wav files. Would the crossover carry on to a burned CD?
  8. David, I have been ripping in .aif format (I believe that is the PCM choice, correct?). As for an audio interface, would you recommend the M Audio Fastrack Pro? Thanks!!
  9. I don't have the sound enhancer enabled, but thanks for thinking about that! I deleted the aux channel and exported the panned tracks for my friend to import into a totally different software on a different laptop. He heard the same bleedover. I also tried to play it on my ipod just in case both our laptops have lower end sound/audio cards. It still happened. I'm about to give up LOL
  10. ERO, Here are screenshots of what's going on - of the Arrangement, the Mixer and the Environment. Hopefully you can see an error Thanks!
  11. So I did what you suggested, but I'm still getting bleed on the mp3 after bouncing. I basically bounced in place all of the midi tracks into one track, and panned hard left. Then I made a click (soloed the Klopfgeist track and recorded it on to a new audio track) and panned it hard right. Even in Logic Express I'm hearing a faint bleed of both music and click in the opposite channels of what they are panned to.
  12. File > Import then I pick the MIDI file. It splits all the tracks out, and then Logic Express assigns the virtual instrument it thinks is "best", and it looks like it assigns some effects to them (I'm not sure if they are stereo or not). I used the standard Klopfgeist Click and putting it in mono output 2, while the other instruments are mono output 1. I've made the Master Output mono, but then it only does an output 1 setting. I've tried to make the tracks pan left or right, but it seems that when I assign them to a mono output that selection is disabled (makes sense). When I bounce using the master output in stereo setting the click is definitely on one side, while the instrument tracks are on the other. It seems that only the click bleeds over - I'm not hearing the instruments on the channel the click is on. I hope I've answered your questions - I am super new to Logic Express and haven't made it through my tutorial fully yet. I'm wondering if I need to make a "click" project and just do all my clicks on that project and bounce them individually (mono) and then do the same for the music so there is no click even being played while bouncing the instruments. Could this work?
  13. I have purchased midi tracks that I am importing into a session. So I'm not doing anything externally at all. I'm not sure what type of soundcard the MacBooks come with. Thanks.
