  1. Hey there, My EWQL Pianos seems to be stumbling over the MIDI in Logic 9.1.8 on my iMac (OSX 10.6.8, 12 GB Memory, 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7). It is very sporadic - sometimes, it bounces perfectly; other times, it is repeatedly 'off'. By 'off', I mean, it will turn a fully quantized MIDI block chord into an unevenly keyed chord (some notes are before/after others). Often times, the 'off' notes come a tad bit late - perhaps, like a musician who can't read the notes fast enough. It's very strange, this isn't the type of 'realism' I expected... I tried offline and realtime bounces with and without other tracks, and sometimes, the bounces are perfect while other times, it sounds like the pianist has a very low IQ.... Has anyone every run into this before for EWQL Pianos or any other virtual instrument plug-in in Logic? Thanks in advance! Chris
  2. Interesting... The MIDI region I was using was a merge of a few different regions. The region may have started on an upbeat previously, but now it doesn't. This particular region does not respond correctly when I try your two suggestions. However, I recorded some new material, and it works fine. It seems to me like it must've been an issue with that particular region, and not an issue with my file overall. I think I'm good from here. Thanks for the reply! Chris
  3. Hello all, I recently discovered the Q-flam feature, and I want to use it to create some ascending harp rolls. However, my Q-flam is producing Descending rolls when I use either positive or negative Q-flam settings (please, see attached pic's). Has anyone run into this before? How can I fix it? Thanks! 4. Hey, thanks, I'm using one instance of Play and boatloads of Waves plug-ins. Nothing that I don't use on other projects (which have no white rectangle). One of the error windows that appeared was related to Play - i.e. that there was a missing cymbal sample. Check out the screenshots below... It appears that the white triangle is in the same exact spot as the Play error message. Making progress! Okay, I just removed all instances of Play and reopened the project. Mystery solved! Thanks!! -Chris
  5. There is a white rectangle that shows up when I open one particular file. There are a couple of small 'error' messages that pop up when I'm loading the project (can't find audio file and can't find a sample = don't care). Other than that, I have no idea what is causing this. The white rectangle overlays all windows - even Safari, etc. - but then it goes away as soon as I close the project. It's really annoying to work with a 'blind spot'. Any ideas on how I could get rid of it? Do you think my data is corrupted?? Thanks!! 6. I figured it out - it was a distortion pedal plug-in I had on a hidden aux track. I feel stupid. Thanks for the help!! -Chris
  7. There is a weird 'rattling' noise that has shown up on one of my files. It sounds actually similar to the noise of an external hard-drive working, but when I turn my speakers off, the noise disappears. I tried muting all the tracks, but the noise remains there, unless I mute the master track. It bounces around from ~-80dB to ~-40dB. I copied the file folder to my other ext hard drive, re-opened the session, and the noise remained. I tried opening another file on the same hard drive and the noise was gone. What else should I check?? Thanks!!! Chris Logic 9 Mac OS X 10.6.8 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7 12 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
  8. Hello, I'm having a weird issue with my key commands in Logic 9.1.3 on Snow Leopard 10.6.7 (iMac, 4GB, 2.8GHz Intel). They are not being executed in Logic. For example, if I type CMMD+S, CMMD+Q, etc. I see the menu screen light up as it usually does, but then, nothing actually happens. Also, I hit ESC while in the piano roll window to give me the scissors, but then, they don't function in the arrange window. I restarted Logic twice and it actually started working FINE again after the second restart. Is there a fix for this issues besides for restarting multiple times? Or am I simply outlasting my computer today? thanks! Chris
