    Logic Studio 9!

How do you people know all these details? Do you all worked with Logic 9 already? Am i the only one who surprised today that i got released? There are so many people telling details about stuff that proberly is not fixed in 9? Do you all have played with this new version already. The only thing i know is from the website which shows only the changes that are intersting from a marketing point of view. I read somewhere that Logic 9 had more then 200 new feaures? So please tell me if you have played with Logic 9 already or if you are assuming things here?
  3. Also take a look at M-Audio's Torq systems, the looks my be a bit cheap bit as for DJ software goes, i like it a lot. It has a good algorithm for calculating BPM's and beatmatching is a bless with this software. I use it a lot running alongside Ableton Live in my livesets.
  4. Find a good indie record label and ask them to release it. Releasing a record is a (as stated before) a whole different ball game. It is also getting more and more expensive to press them. Let them release it for you, and learn from them.
  5. So is that your viewpoint, and are you quite sure that that's true? Well it is a quote i heard on dutch TV somewhere and i think it is not far from the truth no. Don't get me started on religion, it is a horrible invention.
  6. This whole thread is pointless, there is no room for other viewpoints in religions. The whole problem with religion is that they think they have a monopoly on the truth.
  7. Damn, at least do some effort! That is just Logic 8 with hacked UAD2 software...
  8. Maybe i missed a meeting but since when does Ultrabeat have a arpeggiator?
  9. The save file that Logic makes during crash is only a best effort attempt. This makes sense as a crash is not something that is suppose to happen and so is always unexpected. Logic can only creates such a file if it has anytime to do so, it has to know it is going to crash. Normally Logic doesn't know it is going to crash and/or does not have the time to genrate such a file. You should never assume that Logic is going to create a crash file.
  10. A network is just a connection between 2 computers, it depends on what you want to use over your airport connection wether it is affection your Logic setup or not.
  11. I use Major Malfunction actually, it is optmized for Live and you will notice that for sure. Most of it works fine in Logic but sometimes midway in a song the tempo of Major Malfunction just hickups and you ended up with a slightly shifted pattern. This can result in something cool but you can't control it. What i normally do is create a loop with Major Malfunction on it and bounce it as an audiofile and use that in Logic.
  12. By that definition a bassplayer with 40 years of experience could call himself a drummer too, if bassplayer is a musiscian and if a drummer is a musiscian then yeah... So what about if someone programs an algorythm in Max/MSP to create beats (e.g. acts like Autechre) are they musicians or just code programmers?
  13. Some DJ's are definitly musiscians. Your mainstream club dj that mixes one record straight into the other record, no not a musiscian. However if you have DJ's how are very good with turntablism, people like Kid Koala, Q-Bert, Invisibl Skratch Piklz etc. they are as much as a musiscian as your average drummer is. For those people there instrument is there set of SL1200's and they can create 'new' music from scratch. Yes i know they use other people's music as theu basis but it is something completely different then the original recording. So tell me why a turntablist is not a musiscian?
  14. This nu-shoegazer track is making me shiver for months now: M83 - Kim & Jessie http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J9yvItZAjfY But then i am a big M83 fan
  15. I use them a lot for live shows to control Ableton Live. I use the buttons to trigger effect, stop/start, all kinds of events etc. They are great!
