  1. Hi, Just purchased my first library for Kontakt. When I play Kontakt via the midi keyboard, I get sound. When I import a midi file, I get no sound. This is the same for the free libraries that came with it. I load up a another synth (any Logic & 3rd party synth) on the same channel as the midi file and I get sound If I create my own midi file, I get sound. So the issue is with the midi files I import. When I look at the midi data I can't see anything that would cause to not play.
  2. Does anyone have the factory samples/presets that came with LP9's EXS24? Revisited some old tracks I made and some EXS24 files are missing. Many thanks
  3. Sample rate for the samples are 44.1 When I change the sample rate of the project the samples stay the same pitch.
  4. Been going through my old LP7 and 9 projects to make sure they work in LPX before upgrading OS. Some of my tracks, the samples sound pitched down and now clash with the synth parts I wrote. When I play the samples in I-Tunes they sound normal. I started a new LPX project and imported the same samples and again, they sounded pitched down. This only seems to happen with samples I downloaded from Acid Planet, back in the day when they did their remix comps. I didn't do any time stretching to them and have kept the project tempo the same as the original track. Just noticed that in the browser section there is a metronome symbol indicating the files are timestamped. Anyone shed any light on what might be causing this? Many thanks. Stay safe
  5. I want to keep it handy in case I open an old project in LPX and find a sound has changed or wont load. Paranoia of losing something. My nephew-in-law has my old mac which I could use if I runt in to that problem but being able to use it at my location would be a lot more convenient.
  6. I have a similar issue where I need to upgrade to High Sierra or further but want to keep LP9 for my older projects. How do I create a separate installation on a USB? Thanks
  7. Thanks for the reply, even though it's not what I wanted to hear. Looks like I will have to load up all my old stuff to see what happens in LPX and take it form there.
  8. I'm currently running Logic Pro X and Logic 9 and I want to upgrade from Sierra 10.12.6. Doing so will mean saying goodbye to Logic 9 which leaves me with some anxiety about losing instruments/presets which might be vital to my older projects. I know the Garageband sounds are located in the Legacy section but not all the presets seem to be there. For example in Logic X when you select the Hybrid Morph synth, there is not a list of presets like there is in Logic 9. Can anyone confirm if all the sounds in 9 are also available in X? If not, is there a simple or quick way of copying them over to X? Thanks
  9. Thanks Atlas007, Think I sorted it. Downgraded to Sierra from High Sierra Did migration Opened a Logic file that wasn't in the recent list Saved it - no problems encountered Cleared recent list Closed Logic Opened Logic by selecting the only project in the recent list Saved again - And again no problems encountered
  10. Hi, I've purchased a new Mac and have migrated all the stuff from my old one onto it. I've opened Logic which opened the last project I was working on. I've made a change and gone to save it and get this error message The Document ''name of the project'' could not be saved. The file doesn't exist. So I thought I would open the same project but this time locating it in finder and opening it from there. Still get the same error message when saving it. Then I tried doing Save As... but it says The document ''name of project'' could not be saved as ''new name of project''. The file doesn't exist. I have tried opening another file that isn't in the recent list on Logic. It opens fine and seems normal till I save it and I still get both saving issues. If it can't find the file, how does it open it? Any one else had this problem and knows how to fix it? Thanks!
  11. Thanks for the response. I've assigned them fine, what I was asking was if I assign them to channels 1 to 8 will they be the only channels they work on… I've just had a eureka moment , I'm going to have a look at the manual which I should have done in the first place I'll be back if my brain still isn't working!
  12. Hi, I have an Axiom 2nd gen which has slide faders which you can use for the volumes of 8 tracks. I want to be able to chose the channels that I want to use the faders on instead of having them setup for the first 8 channels or second 8 channel, etc.. Is this possible? For example I may want to adjust channel 1,3,4 and 7 or 9,10,12,14 for example in the same project, or am I stuck with 1-8, 9-16, etc? If not, is it like this for all controllers? It seems rather limiting if that is the case. Thanks for your help!
  13. Sorry Atlas, Here are the spec details: Logic Pro 9.1.8(1700.67)(32-bit) OSX 10.8.5 Mac Pro I haven't changed the drives and they are located on the HD drive If I find the SDIR and import it and then change to another preset, then change my mind and go back to the preset before SD asks me to find the SDIR again I'll try moving the SDIRs into Apple and see what happens… I copied the IRs from Library>Application Support>Logic>Impulse Responses and pasted them into Library/Audio/Impulse Responses/Apple and choose a preset in SD and it worked, didn't ask to locate the SDIRs Thanks Reddog.
  14. Hi, When I choose a preset from the menu on Space Designer from 06 Legacy down to Vintage Gear (see picture), SD asks to locate 'preset file name.SDIR' Library>Application Support>Logic>Plug in Settings>Space Designer, all the PST files are there for the ones that ask to locate the SDIR Library>Application Support>Logic>Impulse Responses, all the impulse responses are there. Why is SD asking me to locate the SDIR file and how can I stop it asking for it? The presets are legacy and some I have downloaded, the stock ones that came with Logic work fine. Thanks
