  1. Thank you Christian, that was very helpful.
  2. It's been a long time since I used such something similar, maybe there are nowadays better ways to handle this in Logic because I think how I dealt with this in the past doesn't seem to be available anymore. Anyway this is the case: - I have a 4-track analog recording imported in Logic on 4 consecutive tracks. Because I want to add new rhythm instruments omn new tracks I want to Logic to keep in sync with the original track. - There is one caveat: the first 3 minutes of the song are very free format without really a tempo (which is OK, nothing to add there), but after 3 minutes a drum computer kicks in and from that point onwards I would like to keep Logic in perfect sync with the tempo of the original track... What do you think is the best way to achieve that? Your help is appreciated!
  3. One of the things that bothers me most in Logic since some time (can't remember exactly when it started) is that midi input connection after some time is being lost. So I can work fine for a few hours, then leave y Mac unattended, come back after some time and there is no way of inputting notes into Logic. I never really could find the culprit: it happens to controllers I directly have attached to my Mac, my master Keyboard and synths I have attached to a midi hub. So it's not because of a bad cable or something.. I can 'see' that the connection is lost by going to the environment and where the cabling from one instrument to the input has been removed (by Logic). Sometimes I can resolve by physically replugging the cable or by virtually dragging in the environment window the cable from synth to input. Sometimes it helps to 'reset all midi drivers'. But most of the times there is nothing else to then restart my Mac Pro. Anyone any ideas what the best way is to handle such situations? Thanks in advance.
  4. Routing the drums in Logic Pro is pretty complex (at least more complex than any other plug in I own). In Logic: create a new multi instrument by adding a new track create some Auxes by clicking the + button from the regular instrument channel in the mixer Set the Aux channels under the I/O label to a new source (Kontakt 4 3/4 for example) In Kontakt: cick on the Output icon at the top of the screen, a channel mixer appears set the number of channels you intend to use or delete channels you don't want now configure the channel clicking the Conf. button under the channel here you can align you Logic Aux channels to the NI channels click 'Make default' to use this setting for all Kontakt instruments in the mixer just above the instrument name (for example 'Kick') you see a small pop up menu where you can decide the routing of the instrument, but you will have to reload Kontakt to get your new add channels as a choice in the mixer
  5. Hi, i hope you can help me on this one, because although a long time Logic user I never dealt with this kind of project. I have a very long audio project (actually a transferred 8 track tape) ca 9 minutes long. Now I want to add virtual instruments with midi but because it is a song in dance genre quantization is important. I'm a bit left in the dust what the best strategy is to align the original audio on such long audio tracks to midi tracks....thanks in advance!!
