  1. I Need your help please, It's a long shot... I know. I need someone who has Logic running Novation's Automap, and also has the U-He ACE plugin wrapped. I have an old project I'm re-opening, and I can't open the bass track because it is a wrapped version of U-he's ACE, and my old computer, which I used for the conversion of old projects (like this) recently died... If you have this specific combination of software available, I'd ask you to send the project file to you, and bounce this specific track (or - better stiill, save the ACE preset on the Automap wrapped version so I can open it on a regular instance of ACE. Thank you in advance!
  2. You should be alright, no need to worry. Just in case, you can backup the file you are deleting (drag it to the desktop, and change its name by adding "backup" or something). The only thing you might lose are some custom definitions you have made in Logic's behavior, and deleting this will reset it to it's factory settings.
  3. This is true, but I do want the original notes (un-arpeggiated) to go thru...
  4. So, I have this idea of using the arpeggiator as a modulator. I insert the Logic Arp as a midi FX, and right after that I insert a Modifer with Note Number reassigned to Mod Wheel (Midi cc 1). The problem is, the synth I insert on that channel receives both the arpeggiated notes AND their Modwheel translation. I would like to try and have the arpeggiator function only as midi cc modulator, without it arpeggiating the notes, so to speak. Any ideas how I might achieve this?
  5. Yes of course, I tried opening a new, clean project, and *only* importing that Battery 3 track, and.... crash.
  6. If I re-enable the audio engine with the Battery 3 plugin still there, it will crash. If I replace it with Battery 4, I will get an empty Battery 4 instance of the plugin...
  7. I have Logic X 10.3.3 on my old computer, so the project is trying to open on Logic Pro X, but if the audio engine is engaged, Logic Crashes. If I launch Logic with the audio engine disabled, the project is able to fully load, and I can save it as a Logic Pro X project. I have managed to isolate the cause for the crash, which is the Battery 3 plugin. If i disable the Battery 3 *and then* engage the audio engine, the project plays fine without that track.
  8. Hiya I've got an old project, about 10 years old, which I'm trying to revive. It was made on Logic 9, and I can open almost all tracks on my current Logic X 10.5. I have one track that I can't import - the plugin is Battery 3, and it won't load on my current machine (obviously, because it only has Battery 4 installed) nor would it open on my old iMac which used to run the project in the first place - every time I try launching Battery 3 - Logic crashes. Is there a way I can look at the Logic project file and understand at least what sample is used for the snare drum on that Battery 3 patch? Is there another workaround perhaps? Thank you! ** more info ** I've managed to launch Battery 3 on my old computer as stand alone, and also managed to launch a Battery 3 plugin within Logic on a new track. But again when trying to import the old Battery 3 track with all the info (plugins/patch etc) - Logic crashes again
  9. Ok - problem solved - I had to delete the Control Surface Preferences here: ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.logic.pro.cs everything is working fine now.
  10. Hi - This one is a bit complicated to explain, but I'll try. I have Arturia's V Collection and also the Keylab 61 Essential. It's very intuitive and a lot of fun to control the Arturia plugs with the Keylab Essential, and especially the meta-plugin, the Analog Lab. Everything was working perfect for me with Analog Lab 4, but recently, after Arturia released the new version of the V Collection, with Analog Lab V (5) included, I started experiencing problems. Before explaining things further, it should be noted that when launching Analog Lab V as a standalone, or either as an AU or a VST inside Ableton Live, everything still works fine. In Logic however, some of the knobs stopped controlling the corresponding knobs on screen. I contacted Arturia's support, and they kindly guided me through resetting the definitions on the Kelyab and on the plugins. At the end of the process, i.e following Arturia's suggestions, I still get one knob not working properly. I tried disconnecting the interface on Logic's environment, and connecting it to a midi monitor, to see what happens. The weird thing is that the "rogue" knob still acts weird (affecting another unrelated knob on the software) while all the other knobs and faders stopped working, as exoected when disconnecting the midi interface on the software level. I've made a screen capture of this behaviour to try and demonstrate what I'm talking about. Here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/c6m2rz0yetsy1p6/Arturia%20Lab%20V%20in%20Logic.m4v?dl=0 Does anyone have a clue what's going on?
  11. Thank you all for your excellent responses. @des99 - Output 3-4 on my actual interface are not connected to anything. Output 1-2 are connected to the monitors. I would def. use the multiple-aux version in future projects, in the meantime I might just lay all the reference tracks on another new track, but place them AFTER my track is finished, so I can jump to listen to them with a key command assigned to a marker.
  12. Hi - I've got a MOTU M4 interface, and I would like to set up my Logic mixer for listening to reference tracks while listening. My intuition would be this - As all the tracks and busses in the mix are routed to Output 1-2, I should set up a new track (or folder, if I want to listen to several tracks) that would be routed to Output 3-4. So I have done exactly that. And I can see the meters of Output 3-4 dancing on the M4 display, but I can't hear anything. Now, M4 doesn't come with any sort of mixer app. Is there a way around this? Am I going around this the wrong way? Any help appreciated!
  13. Hi A little something that I found inspiring in Logic's new Quick Sampler when working with drum loops. The idea is to load a (drum/percussion) loop to Quick Sampler in Slice Mode, and replay the loop using the keyboard (change the slices sizes if needed). The game changer here is a little button called "Play to End" which essentially plays the sample/loop to the end, regardless if the slice you triggered has finished. This lets you re-play the loop, and the loop will continue play to its end from the slice you triggered. It helps to make sure Quick Sampler is playing in Mono, so you don't layer slices on top of each other and every new slice you trigger is silencing the previous one. I've attached a screen shot to make it easier to understand (with a homage to a classic drum loop...) Try it, it's fun.
  14. Re-awakening this thread, as in Logic 10.5 there's a chance folks would not understand why Logic doesn't automatically record enable a track when selecting it. It happened to me in one of my projects, and it took me a while to realize what happened: When Enable Performance Recording is switched on (when the tracks view is recording the performance in the Live Loops view - see the screen shot), Logic stops automatically enabling the selected tracks for recording, you need to do this manually every time. Once Enable Performance Recording is switch off again, Logic behaves as it used to. Hope this will help anyone who comes across the same issue as I did.
  15. You're right. I opened the Plugin manager, found the rogue plug and deleted from the components folder. Now launching fine. Needless to say, when launching previous versions of Logic, i never had this issue. Thank you!
