  1. Great. Well, every song is loaded in one patch. They are sound files that I've exported from Logic. So, on one track I have a click track. On one track I have something like a drum loop. And on a third track maybe a synth bass and on a fourth track there might be an fx track. Then I have them on separate outputs on my sound card. So the click is going to output 1 and the rest of them on output 2–4 (or something like that). I haven't used midi to control yet and haven't tried my setup live. Only for rehearsal. I have built something in MainStage that is showing the band members what part is playing (eg. Verse, Chorus). I also have a part showing the bars left until the next change in the track. Something like 4 bars left until Chorus 2. I have this in my MacBook Pro and three of the band members have my window showing on they iPads via TeamViewer. But there are a lot of lyrics to be remembered and would be great to have them on the screen for both lead vocals and backing vocals. But some songs have so much lyrics that it would be best to have some scrolling function movie along with the song. Otherwise the lyrics will be too small I guess. Not sure what is the best solution... My plan is to change tracks via a midi controller foot pedal.
  2. Is it possible to display lyrics for backtracks running in MainStage or if there is a way to trigger something else to display lyrics in a different monitor? I am planning to use backtracks for a band with MainStage where I have some things setup in the monitor, but I also need lyrics to be displayed as well and changed when a new track is loaded.
  3. I didn't find them either, but then I looked in the other library. There is one library for the whole computer and one for every user account installed. I think the folders were in the main library.
  4. Thanx for a very informative explanation here. Just one thing. Whatif I install a new plug-in. Where will that end up? Or if an update is installed? Will those parts end up at my ordinary hard drive and delete the alias folder, so I will have to move the new parts to the external drive and then make a new alias?
  5. Since the Additional content for Logic Pro X is quite large I wonder if it's possible to move this to an external hard drive? I tried to find info online, but couldn't... My internal is pretty full, since I work with other things, like Adobe CS6 and things that take up a lot of space. Would be great if this is possible... Anyone have an idea or info about this?
  6. I've been waiting for this update and of course I thought there would be more midi stuff included, since it was really the only thing missing. I would like to change a vocal delay or sound within a song. Working with a lot of audio tracks and loops behind a band and it would be great to add different vocal sounds for different songs or maybe add a delay at a specific point in a song. I guess it's only possible with midi and then added as a program change or whatever in one of the tracks. Or is there another way to make this? Since they don't have that, there might be another way in their eyes?
  7. I'm looking for the same solution as well. I would like MainStage to change some effects for me during a concert. Sometimes I want a delay to open for me in a part of the song and sometimes a special fx or whatever. My show is running with click and some backtracks, so MainStage will be running all the time. But, since I'm a lead vocalist and don't want any pedals on the floor it would be great to have MainStage changing stuff for me. Isn't that possible? I'm a newbie and working with MainStage, setting up all tracks this week. I really love the automated things in Logic. I thought it might be possible to either import those to the Mainstage tracks or maybe in sync with Logic? Is there any way to do something like this?
  8. Not sure if I can help you (I'm also a newbie), but I bounce my files from Logic. Then I drag and drop them into a channel in MainStage and it becomes a playback. Then I open the playback window (by double-clicking on the blue Playback-button on the channel). Down in the left corner I set the Sync to ON and if I have more than one channel (in my setup I use one channel for click, one for some drum loops, and one for synth bass or fx), then I also select a group for those files I want to sync. I'm not sure if I have to do that, but it works for me. So I set all my three channels to group A. Then I set the tempo for the song as well, but I think it's included in the bounced file somewhere. Maybe you can get some help out of this. Better than no answer at all anyway.
  9. I'm really new to MainStage and is playing around and setting up a setlist for my band. What I did, is setting the sync to ON for every Playback channel. Then I also set them to the same group (or whatever it is called, the dropdown menu at the very right bottom in the Playback window). So, if I set channel 1 to sync on and group A, then I set channel 2 to Sync on and also group A. That made it work for me. Not sure if it's the correct way and not sure if both of them are important to set, but it works for me. But something I noticed this morning when I was working on a track when travelling on a train. The song is running in 96 BPM in Logic. Then I bounced the track to a wav file and drag and dropped it into a mainstage channel. Then the tempo was showing 95.99 BPM. Not sure why, but it felt a little scary. I have a window, where I show markers of the tracks, upcoming marker and also the beats until next marker. Then also the tempo of the song. That's where I could see this new tempo. Even though I don't think it makes that much sense, but isn't that strange?
  10. Q1: I'm not at the Logic computer right now, so I'm not really sure about the name, but there is an organ plug included in Logic Studio and it seems like I can't use that one. Don't know when it happened, but it seems like something is missing. The sounds are up on the library list, but when I pick it, there is no sound at all. Is there a way to install just that one again? How is that done? Don't want to reinstall the whole Logic system again. Q2: And sometimes when I play a track, I get a Midi sync error message. What does that mean? And why is it popping up every now and then when I play a track? What could be the problem? I only use built-in Software instruments and audio files from my hard drive when I get that message. Today I was running a track on my laptop on a train and wanted to bounce it to use it in MainStage, but when I pressed play that message came up, like every 5th second or so. Any ideas?
  11. That worked. Just had to set the tempo correct for every song. But now it works. I had to set Sync to all the audio tracks I had in my songs. Maybe there is a solution to set that for all of them? Instead of open up every single track and click the sync on. I don't have that many audio tracks, but would be nice to know if that might happen another time.
  12. I guess nobody knows how to set this to show beats and bars instead of minutes and seconds? A little strange that a music based application is talking in minutes and seconds rather than beats and bars. Or might there be a solution or maybe a right click somewhere on the screen?
  13. I am working on a band project and setting up the concert with all the songs. I have loops and clicktracks and things like that made in Logic. I have set markeres of parts in the songs (eg. Verse, Chorus, Solo). I bounce them to mixed audio files and then drag them into playback tracks in MainStage for that song. All the markers are listed just like they should and I have built a window where it shows the actual marker. Then I've added another box, showing what part is coming up in a large font. I have also put a box telling me how many seconds left until the next marker. So, my window shows something like this: VERSE CHORUS 00:05:10 But I would like to have beats or bars showing, instead of minutes and seconds. Is that possible? Do I have to bounce my files in a different way to make the tempo info be included in the files, or maybe that info is included just like my markers now? Or would the tempo info work if I set it in MainStage? Not sure how MainStage knows where the bar starts if I would do it like that. Any help here from anyone? A bit confused right now and also very new to MainStage. But I kinda like it already.
  14. I'm planning to use Main Stage in a project where there a lot of backtrack loops. I'm have never used Main Stage before, but I'm a Logic user, so I guess it will be easy to move over for live performance. But the plan is to have all five band members to be able to see what's going on during the song, so I want to have monitors visible to all band members. Is it possible to run Main Stage on one computer (like a Mac Book) and then connect monitors for the others to see what's going on, so the band can follow the display when it changes during the song (showing parts or waveform blocks or whatever). Any ideas? Anyone using Main stage for more than one user? Q2. Is it possible to have lyrics rolling on the display as well? I was reading the manual the other day (well looked through it briefly). But it would be great to have lyrics following the track, instead of notes on paper. Of course it would be easier to learn lyrics or changes in songs, instead of all these things I'm asking about, but the project is pretty much changing and might change from gig to gig, so it would be nice to have this help on stage.
