  1. I've noticed a lag when trying to play a note after switching to a new midi instrument. Example: I'm on midi instrument 1 and it plays smoothly. Switch to midi instrument 2 and the first note playe does not register. Second note I play does. Switch back to midi instrument 1 and, again, first note played does not register but second one does. Any ideas? 10.6.3
  2. Is there a way to click on a note in the piano grid and display the midi note information while you move it? Specifiaclly where it is located (Example: D1 25.4.1.161) It show the location info of the arrow tool. But if I were to click and drag a note to a new place on the grid it won't display where on the grid I am. Older version of Logic did this, wondering if it's available in X. Running 10.6.3
  3. Hello! I recently switched to Logic Pro X from Logic 9. In Logic 9, I was able to click ANYWHERE on a midi note in the Piano Roll and it would display the exact location of the START of that note. I see a similar display in Piano Roll in Logic Pro X but it is only displaying where on the grid I am clicking on the note, not the START of the note. Is there a way to turn this feature on again? Thanks!
  4. When I move the playhead along the timeline in the Arrange window or try to place the playhead in an exact spot on the timeline, it moves and responds as if it is locked to a grid. Is there a way to override this so the playhead moves and positions smoothly?
  5. I am unable to force close the 32-Bit Audio Unit Bridge. I am also unable to shut down my computer for the same reason. I can force shut the computer down but would rather not.
  6. Thanks for the reply, ski. I hear you. I am no professional mixer but I agree that your ears are the best guide. But they can be deceiving. What sounds good on one set of speakers may sound terrible on another. That is why, I assume, EQ tools like this exist. I guess my question is: Wouldn't that screen capture suggest that a track is too bassy/boomy? Similarly, if it registered no low end at all, wouldn't it suggest the opposite. I suppose I am trying to find a medium here. Using my ears as my main tool but using the EQ tools to analyze in detail. Is your advice to not trust the EQ analyzer at all?
  7. Sure. But wouldn't all the compression, EQ carving and delay's be in an effort to avoid exactly what is being shown? Thanks.
  8. My basic question is: what am I trying to get my EQ to look like in the EQ Analyzer? Of course, I'm more concerned with how it sounds but I want to make sure what sounds good on my monitors isn't going to make my car speakers rattle to death. As a test, I took a piece of music from a popular band that was surely mixed and mastered professionally. I imported it and analyzed the EQ and found that the low end was jumping off the chart. But, here's what's confusing to me, it sounds great across multiple speakers (stereo, monitors, car.) If my mix were to show the same EQ forms it would have sounded great on my monitors but would have sounded awful on my stereo and car stereo. What gives? Here is a screen shot of the EQ form from the track I imported:
  9. Would setting up a an aggregate device be necessary? I just want a quick way to: Use the Duet's output - switch - use the iMacs output.
  10. I have a set of monitors I use as the main stereo outs for my Duet. I also have a different set of monitors hooked up to my iMac. Is there a way to quickly toggle back and forth w/o having to go into either the Audio MIDI set-up or Logic's preferences window and make the change manually? Thanks
  11. Thanks for your reply. If we can, I'd like to switch around your example. The Duet is connected to my speakers and the ONE is unused. My Duet's 2 outputs are being used for Stereo monitoring, so those aren't use-able. The ONE only has a headphone output. Would I go: 1. Out of the ONE headphone jack into the 610 2. Out of the 610 into the ONE input. ?
  12. I have a UA SOLO/610 and am running Logic 8 on a G5. I have both an Apogee Duet and ONE. I have set them up as an aggregate device. Question: How do I use use the SOLO/610 as an effect plug-in. In other words, how would I use the SOLO/610 after on a Logic soft-synth. (This is just an example.) I have read numerous threads about this but I can't seem to get the hang of it. If someone could explain it (step by tedious step) like you were explaining it to a third grader that would be awesome. Thanks!
  13. So before I reinstall, I want to run my problem in detail by you and see if you still think a OSX re-install is the (possible) cure. I just tried to load a recent project and here is what happened: Logic loads the first few samples (drums, bass, etc.) and then gets to "Basic Synth Det.exs" and gets about 90% done and then stops. Under the progress bar it says: "3hook24.wav" The black and white ball just hangs there. And I am left w/ no other options than to force quit. I take it that my computer cannot find "3hook24.wav" But when I manually look for the file Logic can't, I CAN FIND IT. Right where it is supposed to be... Does this support your theory that it is an indexing problem and a re-install is the way to go? Thanks...
  14. A clean re-install huh? Do I want to Archive and Install? Or will that carry over the current problem?
