  1. Thanks, will check it out. In the meantime I found ConnectionOpen which looks very good and includes video as well. https://www.connectionopen.com/
  2. I was recently reading about "VST Connect Pro" which is a Steinberg VST plug-in that lets someone perform in a remote location, but it would enable you to record that performance live into your DAW. Does anything like this exist as an AU plug-in? Would need it but cannot find anything.... Thanks.
  3. Thanks for your tips! I can see no unexpected events, I am using a fixed channel, no programmer, filtered out everything except note events. I realized that external MIDI is way ahead of internal instruments/plug-ins. So it might have to do something with the way Logic delays things in order to make the timing work correctly for all internal FX and instruments.
  4. I started a new song without any other tracks. same thing. the random notes seem to be always in the higher octaves. In the meantime I tried to create an "external track" with the MKS assigned - as opposed to just a using regular MIDI track - and with delay compensation assigned things seem to work as expected in regards to the timing.
  5. Hi! I just recently hooked up a nice old Roland MKS-70 to my setup. The synth works great when I just play it with my controller through Logic. Now, when I record something it sounds ok during recording, but on playback the timing is all messed up (despite being quantized and looking perfect in the event editor). It also happens that some random notes appear here and there that can be heard but do not exist in the note editor. The timing of the synth on playback is substantially ahead of the Logic internal instruments timing. All possible delay settings are set to 0. Any idea what's going on here? Thanks!!
  6. Yes, I restarted, and I also deleted the "com.apple.logic.pro.cs" preference file in my user library. W hat I forgot to mention: even when I connect the iPad or iPhone via USB Logic Remote still does not detect Logic. I regularly update my iOS devices, so Logic and Logic Remote are on the latest software versions.
  7. I have been trying to connect my iPad and/or iPhone (both latest OS) to Logic Pro (latest version), but for some reason Logic Remote does not detect my Mac Pro - and I am definitely on the same network. Tried several troubleshooting tips I found online but without success. Help would be highly appreciated since now I am jogging between vocal booth and control room... Thanks! 2009 Mac Pro, High Sierra, 10.13.6, Logic Pro 10.4.8
  8. Thanks. But for some reason out of nowhere I loaded my startup song on my laptop and had a master fader with inserts (!) - and no idea how it happened but definitely liking it. Unfortunately I was not able to get it back later and definitely not on my MacPro.
  9. not that I'm aware of it.... I don't have any channels with surround set as output (kept checking over and over) and in Preferences/Advanced Options I have Surround unchecked too.
  10. I have a similar problem: my master fader does not have any inserts- just blank. Any advice? Thanks. 2009 MacPro 12-core, SSD, OSX High Sierra, Logic Pro X 10.4.7
  11. Thanks David! Will try that. But after more trouble shooting it seemed that the M-Audio keyboard is the culprit. Without it plugged into USB everything seems to work fine.
  12. Hi, for some reason I am not able to get any MIDI into Logic anymore. When I try to open the Audio Midi Setup app to see what's going on I get the error "The MIDI Server can't be opened". I trashed the MIDI preferences (com.apple.audio.AudioMIDISetup.plist) and tried to restore the Mdi Server file (in MacHD>System>Library>Frameworks) from TimeMachine but it doesn't let me because it's "required by MacOS". Any solutions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! MacPro 2009, MacOS High Sierra 10.13.6, Focusrite Scarlett 2i4, M-Audio Keystation 61
