  1. I'm having this problem too. I have an Apple Loop from which I'm trying to create a groove template. Once I fixed it by converting to a new audio file, but now that's not working. When I try to do it, I get a cascade of error dialogs that alternate between "Not enough memory to create object", and "Couldn't create region." I have to click through a bunch of these before I can get back to the main app. There is only one other groove template in this project, and Activity Monitor shows 35 out of 64 GB or memory used.
  2. In my earlier days I recorded a lot of live shows with the H4N and often had problems with drift relative to the other recordings (that were made on cameras and computer.)
  3. As you've probably gathered, there's no "right" way to do it. It depends on your goals. Personally, in most cases I like to track through the console with software monitoring disabled in LPX. I customize my transport bar so I can always see at a glance whether software monitoring is enabled or not. Keep in mind that you can save not only save different Console sessions, but also the scribble strip in Console can be saved with each session it makes this process even smoother. A few other tips: Unison plugs in Console are always printed, but you can chose whether other ones are printed or not. Keep track of this setting. If you use effects on an aux in Console, but would like to print them, create a track stack in LPX that includes both the main track and the auxes. Then you can print but maintain separate mix control in LPX.
  4. Hmmm, I'm stumped at the moment. I might get rid of one of the Sub 37s in the Audio MIDI setup just to prevent confusion, but other than I'm not sure why it wouldn't shot up as a MIDI destination in the External Instrument plugin.
  5. Great tips! Relatedly-I used to have transform objects in my environment template that would take incoming notes or CCs from a step sequencer (Roland EF-303) and transform them into other CCs for synths. I would use a cable switcher to switch between them, or to switch them out of the path of incoming MIDI data when I didn't want to use this them. The cable switcher allowed me to quickly change routing or functionality without recabling anything.
  6. @schlomojorgensen-Cool idea! May I ask in which situations you use the 2 modes? I know the manual says to use "audio and software instrument tracks" for recording, but very often I have aux and subgroup routing in the production phase, so I usually leave it in All, and use Low Latency Mode when tracking and monitoring through logic, or I disable software monitoring and monitor earlier in my signal chain.
  7. How is the Sub 37 MIDI connected (DIN or USB)? Do you see the Sub 37 in Audio MIDI Setup?
  8. There is a much simpler way. Set up an aux and insert the i/o plugin on the aux. https://documentation.apple.com/en/logicstudio/effects/index.html#chapter=14%26section=3%26tasks=true
  9. Is it possible the MIDI Out button in the Piano Roll has become un-checked? viewtopic.php?t=80533
  10. As an alternative, what about using the I/O plugin for these different paths? Couldn't the Ping button automatically compensate for the different processing latencies?
  11. 2018 update Now it can also indicate that a VCA controlling that channel is muted.
  12. Can https://non-lethal-applications.com/products/video-slave-3 handle 3D? I took a quick look through their FAQ and couldn't find the answer. I know this still isn't working totally within LPX, but it came to mind as a possible alternative.
  13. Does anyone know if there's a way to extend (or retract) the borders of quick swipe comp edits to next/previous transients via key commands? This would be a much more elegant way to make selections between notes and phrases than swiping with the mouse (which is the way I've always done it.) When doing it via mouse sometimes I have to do a lot of zooming/unzooming to make accurate selections. Thanks!
