Hi everyone - I dug out my old AlphaTrack and purchased the driver to get it to work with Catalina, but I'm having an issue with using it in Logic. It seems like I can only control the first track in the mixer even if I have focus on another track. I'm guessing that I'm doing something wrong, but I've tried just about every combo of setting in the AlphaTrack Manager and in the Control Surface prefs. Can anyone point me to what could be wrong? I contacted the developer of the updated driver and he wasn't helpful. Thanks. -- Natalia

This has now happened a 2nd time with a project of stems from Ableton instead of PT and it seems to break when I do a bounce and replace all tracks to free up CPU/UAD DSP.

Hi everyone - Using the latest Logic on Sierra and I'm having an issue I've never run into before. I have some stems from PT that I'm importing and they end up out of sync for some reason. If I drag them to the arrange view of Ableton Live, they sync up fine. Any ideas as to why this could be happening? I'm starting to lose my mind. FYI: Some of the stems come as separate L and R channels from PT and they import as a single interleaved file. Don't know if that makes any difference. Thanks!

Can someone confirm that you can run v9 and X on the same system without issues?

It is indeed. I'm wondering if it's because I recently moved to Lion from Snow Leopard? I may try a complete reinstall of Play. I'm waiting to hear back from EW support first to see if they offer up another solution. -- N

I'm having a very similar issue. I think it has something to do with PLAY. I'm running Logic in 64-bit mode with EW SO and after it plays back a couple of times, it stops playing back anything until I restart Logic. I have a 2.93 Core i7 iMac with 12GB of RAM. To say this is frustrating and not helpful in the creative process is understating it greatly! -- N

For even more weirdness... This morning everything is working again! I don't get it. I rebooted my system last night many times and even shut it, my drives, and audio devices down completely for a few minutes before restarting and it didn't help then. I can only think that there are Gremlins living in my Mac! -- N

Ok. I've got more info. I finally got 64-bit mode to run and if I import one of my files there, it's fine. I can then save that project and reopen in 32-bit mode and continue to import files and they're fine. However, if I create a new project while in 32-bit mode and import any file it's completely screwed up! Any thoughts on what broke 32-bit mode and how I can fix it? Thanks! -- N

Well, I'm trying to launch 64-bit mode and the 2 times I've tried it hangs while trying to load my last saved project's Klopfgeist! I did try repairing permissions earlier as well if that helps. -- N

Hello everyone - I have a really weird problem happening as of tonight. I'm running Logic Pro in 32-bit mode and if I try importing any AIFF file, it shows up as a big blob of black (like a horribly compressed track) and it won't play in Logic at all -- nothing shows up on the track's meter. If I import the same file to an older Logic project, open it in Ableton Live, or a 2-track editor it looks and plays fine. I'm pulling my hair out trying to solve this. Any help is greatly appreciated. My system is an iMac 2.92GHz Core i7 w/12GB RAM running 10.6.8. My audio hardware is: MOTU Ultralite mk3 Firewire & UAD-2 Satellite Duo. -- N

Hello all - I have my shiny new Logic 9 DVDs ready to rock. I'm currently running Logic 8 on my lowly Mini and have all of the Jam Packs, iLife Sound Effects, & Apple Loops for GB/Soundtrack Pro installed on an external drive. I then have aliases for those folders in HD->Library->Audio->Apple Loops->Apple I've read on this forum how the new installer lets you specify an external drive to install/upgrade the content on. So my question is should I delete my aliases in the Library to not confuse things or will that help the installer figure out that I have content to be upgraded on an external drive??? Any insight would be greatly appreciated! -- N
