  1. I was on the fence, so glad I got the MBP in my signature,.. I use tons of Kontact, omnishere, superior drummer, Trilian, AmpliTube, Altiverbs, Helix native,…I can run at 64 samples most of the time..it’s incredible. I was advised here to go with external SSDs,..which I use for audio and samples,..2 separate drives Load time on large projects are instant. Go M1, you will love it
  2. I use Amp 5, because I also use a NI komplete kontroller I need to run Logic in Rosetta. Not exactly what you are asking. But I’m able to run tons of Amp 5 instances in a project with buffer set 64 samples. It works great,…hopefully KK will get updated and I can run Logic natively
  3. I had poor performance on my new Mac with Logic, Cubase runs much better. I eliminated the hd external usb hub, that helped loading time a lot. But this dude has some great tips for tuning Logic. His tips helped a lot.
  4. Disregard that last post….got it…thanks all!
  5. it doesn't appear OSX 12.01 allows this format?...which of these should I use? thanks!
  6. I’m glad I asked…what is the best format to use?
  7. Howdy! I recently added 2 samsung external ssd's to my rig. When they arrived I simply plugged them in and transferred my audio projects and samples to them. I didn't pay any attention to what format they were, I notice they are ExFat format. I know nothing about this format, reading up....it seems to be both windows and mac capable. Should I have used a different format for my drives? and should I change to a different type? thanks in advance!
  8. Howdy, folks. Show of hands, who else finds this new “optimized battery life” function on new Macs obnoxious and unnecessary. Ive been using Macs for years, what is this now?….tracking my usage and “optimizing the charging” when plugged in? Give me a break https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT212049
  9. Thanks for the information guys, I have my drives connected to a powered hub that I’m shutting down when finished. But I leave the Mac on 24/7 even when not recording. The only times I had issues with my old MBP was if I shut down. It just works better when not powered off, Thanks again
  10. Hey Folks Do you leave your external drives connected and mounted when not recording…I used to switch the power on my old data drives to mount when needed. Now the ssd with no power buttons,…I feel like unplugging and plugging will probably cause more wear…just curious what most users do? Thanks
  11. Hi All- So I have a brand new MBP and brand new install of Logic 10.7.2. On my old MBP I used custom folders in the plugin manager. It appears there is no "+" to create custom folders on my new rig? is this the case with 10.7.2? thx! MM
  12. Yes, the option was set to sleep when possible, I deselected this so it works like my old mac
