  1. Just checked my setup in 10.4.8, it's the same as yours BUT when I built it I had not closed and reopened to a new logic project. I rebooted and started logic again and after the reboot it now behaves correctly. Thanks for further precision. Maybe the discrepancy was caused by logic's delay compensation somehow getting confused by a phantom Linear Phase EQ from my previous testing that involved repeated draggings of the Linear EQ plugin to an AUX and then using the dreaded "undo" command (where I should know to avoid from many years of experiencing weirdness)
  2. Actually, that is what I was clumsily trying to point out. When I tried the Linear Phase EQ in 10.4.8 your setup didn't work until I added sample delay plugin. This shows that Delay Compensation is improved in 10.5.1 where your setup works great.
  3. To add more minutia to this topic. I was noticing that David's elegant setup only worked if I added a sample delay of 2545 samples after the gain plugin. This was using my old laptop that is stuck on Logic 10.4.8. Just now I went on my newer studio mac and find that David's setup in Logic 10.5.1 works great as is. Additionally, I am reminded that there is now a 'HQ' button in Channel EQ instead of an 'Oversampling' option.
  4. Thanks for posting that David! I was just about to type up a very similar approach using a single bus. To make the cancellation work properly (with the single bus approach using a normal Channel EQ) I found I needed to have the EQ's 'Oversampling' turned on. Worked great!
  5. Is there a problem with just turning down Retro Synth's Amp volume? I'm curious, are playing chords? Also, in Retro Synth's SETTINGS page is the 'Voice Stacking' parameter cranked up to 8? More oscillators = more volume.
  6. Your FX plugin chain is probably adding extra gain. It looks like a good place to lower the output level without changing your chain's sound is to turn down the Compressor's 'Output Gain' knob.
  7. The default key command to open the Environment window changed to cmd + 0 (command zero) in recent versions of Logic.
  8. Thanks @teerathm. Bug confirmed here on both my laptop and iMac systems! Noticed your time signature was 7/8. I set mine to 4/4 and still had the issue. Also noticed that manually changing and returning the tempo to 75bpm during playback temporarily corrects the issue. Steps to reproduce: Set Tempo to 75bpm Set Sample Rate to 48KHz (or 96KHz) Set Buffer Size to 256 or above Set Arpeggiator rate to 1/32 or faster Playback a MIDI region of one or more held notes Instead of outputting a steady series of notes the Arpeggiator will be skipping steps. this should not be happening... we should report as bug!
  9. You might have answered your own question in the quote above. In your 3rd screen shot try setting Logic's Input Device to the Quartett.

  11. Agreed, aftertouch is often way too touchy to be usable. I too would like a way to slow down (slew) aftertouch messages... Preferably with separate Attack and Release time controls.
  12. Thank you for the thoughtful reply David. It was a bit TLDR though so I didn't really read the rest of it. Just kidding You bring up many insightful observations and I agree totally. I was thinking of just coloring the region (or # of selected), I should try photoshopping the idea. I'm glad DanRad brought this up because I have always felt that the appearance of the Region Inspector needs to change somehow to reflect its "Dual Purpose". It could be argued that having it remain static is inconsistent with overall GUI design. Maybe a better idea is to have the Region Inspector shift its background to slightly lighter shades of gray. And I agree with fisherking, It feels like we should demand that something change in there. Time to resurrect the , command.
  13. It would be great if when it displays a region (or regions) selected, it took on the color of the selected region (or the first region). Just like the text and background colors of the region header. I could use the visual assistance of a splash of color over there when it switches away from default settings.
  14. Thanks Dewd. Man, 42 times better, this!
  15. Nice quick look video EquipeGrey. I fixed your link for you.
