  1. Hi all I'm in the UK I haven't used the Logic Pro Help for a while but a couple of weeks ago I did........but it was all French !!! Sacré Bleu....what has happened? It might have happened after the 10.5 update, not sure but I've done 10. 5.1 update and it's still there. Anyone experienced this and know how to fix it? Thanks Paul
  2. Yes, as i mentioned earlier I can get it to grab the bottom corner but I need to use the dropdown stack and use the waveform Region there to do what I need it to do.You're right, i can use the zoom but that's led me to discover another way and that is using the 'zoom focused track' feature. I have to set the track height quite high. It still grabs the top corner but I can at least see a lot of the Region underneath the black text box. I guess that will have to do. Thanks David,
  3. Hi David. No, it's not selected. It's on Pointer. Does it happen with you? Create a vocal track, use Warm Vocal...then record a short Region. When you try and alter the length of the region (from either the start or end) do you get a black box with a point on the top right (or left) of the Region. With me, the box blocks the area of the Region I want to see. Regards Paul
  4. Does this happen with everyone? In a typical arrangement page lets say I create a Voice audio track and assign, for example, 'Warm Vocal' as the effect. I record my region and then want to trim it up. When I do this the pointer goes to the top corners of the region and displays the reference block underneath it which obscures the view to the part I want to edit !!!!! This wouldn't happen if it grabbed the bottom corner. As far as i can make out, the only way to stop this is use the drop-down button on the track header which then additionally shows tracks for other parameters such as Pre-delay and Warmth. With this method when I trim the audio region it grabs the bottom corner rather than the top. I can't recall ever having this problem before but it's annoying as I don't want to keep toggling to display all the other parameters. Anyone else got this problem? It only happens with Audio Regions. With Midi, it always grabs the bottom corners. Thanks Paul
  5. Well things seem to have changed. Now it's not closing and giving me options to open which I've done. I haven't done a song containing vocal audio files but one did contain Rex files. The places are there but not the files. Anyway...I'm going to persevere with this and see how i get on. Thanks for all your help and if it all goes a bit pear-shaped then I'll be back for some advice.
  6. I tried that too. I'm going to try again today. Maybe there's a difference here between 'Saving' the song and 'Exporting' the song. What is worrying too is that Logic 10 closes down 'unexpectedly' when I attempt to open these files from L6.
  7. Hi Thanks for reply. Yeah I read this....but I'm thinking that this is when they're on the same computer, maybe? Also this is July 2017.Could the new OS be making it difficult for me. i'm on High Sierra. Essentially I want the midi maps of the songs. I can easily assign new software instruments but I'd like all the midi to be there so I dont have to go through the enormous task of playing it all again. Midi on/offs cant be that difficult but I'm struggling here.
  8. Hi Everyone I'll try and be brief. I have an old Apple G5 (2004) running Logic Pro 6 with a lot of stuff on it. Additionally I have an iMac 27" running Logic Pro 10 with all the updates. These are two separate systems. Yesterday I thought I'd transfer some of my old Logic 6 projects to my Logic 10. Some are songs and some are quite simple midi arrangements. I saved them as projects onto a USB stick. But when I tried to open them with Logic 10 on the iMac it wasn't having any of it saying that it's in a format that L10 can't open. Some are songs with Audio files but some are just midi. It's not like they're really complicated files. What can I do? Anyone have a solution? Thanks Paul
  9. Ron, it beats me how this has now resolved the problem.....as I say, really I did nothing, didn't change anything. But hey, I wont knock it.....it's going to save me a lot of hassle. As for the Potugese, my biggest fear is.....England. We can do it, we could do it. We never have the belief and I would hate Saturday to be another "typical England" performance of piling on the pressure and losing to some soppy goal in the 85th minute. I though England were bad at taking penalties but did you see the Swiss last night? Jeepers!!! Talk to you again soon....thanks for your help Paul
  10. Hi Rockwithu and Ronnie. Let me tell you what I did and see if it makes sense. I opened Logic 6.3 and went to preferences. In the Set up Assistant all my previous information was there so I just went through the pages. I changed nothing and finished it. When I went back to the arrange page, the Open recent worked......it had the current song on it. I closed everything up and opened again.....and it's still there. It is now fixed but I have no idea why, unless the bug meant that all the info was just waiting there. Maybe that's why it's not there when Assistant is opened for first time as you say Rock... So I thank you both for your time and information. We have fixed it but I really dont know how. I'm sure it makes sense to you guys. I'm happy now. Thanks Paul Hartley , Hartsongs
  11. Thanks Ronnie....as you say, I will have to get myself organised if I cant fix it although someone has suggested cancelling the preferences and launching again. This may work. I'll try it. Thanks for your time.....Paul
  12. If I launch Pro 6 and go File>Open Recent there is nothing there, no list of recent songs and there never has been. Although this is not critical it is a darn nuisance as now I have to trawl through my files before I can open the song I did yesterday. Has anybody any idea why this function may not be working for me? I've just downloaded 6.3 but it has not fixed the problem. cheers Paul
  13. Hi Everyone. I'm new here. I have Pro 6. Have loaded Drums on Demand recently. I asked for Rex2 files which I got. Sounds great. i simply drag and drop files into the arrange window of the song. But....how come on some songs I can change volume control etc but on others I cant. what am I doing wrong......I can't spot anything different that I'm doing. Is there anything glaringly obvious......I'm using no outboard gear at all so I've got no other midi instruments. I can change volume on other tracks but not the one with these DOD Rex2 files. If anyone could shed some light, I'd be really grateful. cheers Paul
