  1. alright so we're almost there... how do i stop this from happening in the future? thanks again for all your help!
  2. yes, I'm using an Akai MPK 249. I just disconnected it and used musical typing, and the problem was still happening... BUT, i removed the Sampler plugin and started over with the controller disconnected, and so far I'm having no problems using musical typing. so i think you may be onto something here... any idea if this would mean the controller is faulty or if there's a fix?
  3. I mostly have encountered this problem in Sampler and other third party software instruments such as Spitfire Labs. I will load a patch, it will play properly for a few seconds and then the sound will mostly pan hard left despite both the channel and the instrument being panned center. This has been going on for months and the only solution I've found is to simply use Sampler instruments in mono, which is an annoying fix. I'm in the latest Logic 10.7.1 and using macOS Big Sur 11.3.1on an early 2015 Macbook Pro 13-inch Retina. here's a screenshot that illustrates the problem: any help would be deeply appreciated. thanks!
  4. Apologies in advance for troubling you with a really ignorant question. I've been using Logic Express and quite recently graduated to Logic 8 Pro. I've recorded my track and am cool with the mix. I want a high quality wav file of this mix to send to be mastered. My deadline is tomorrow. The way I've been doing this is with the "bounce..." option under the file menu. I select the file format wave and check the box "add to iTunes library." When i listen to the track in iTunes, it seems I've lost a good bit of quality. What is the proper tool in Logic to "export" or "bounce" my entire project to a wave file, losing as little quality as possible? This is my first project to record in Logic Pro. Thanks in advance!
  5. finally got with presonus customer service. they think i got a defective device, so i'm gonna try exchanging it for another one.
  6. so does that mean the line outs on the firebox are mono not stereo?
  7. ok, i tried doing the very thing riffbeeper suggested again.... now it's coming through a good bit on the left but it's overwhelmingly louder on the right.... *edit* as soon as i touched the headphone volume knob all audio dispeared from the left side.
  8. riffbeeper, someone else recommended i try that and it didn't work. thanks for the suggestion!
  9. i think you're right. unfortunately i only can get sound in the left ear for a few seconds at a time..... if i buy something like this and connect it to the line out on the firebox, would that work? http://pro-audio.musiciansfriend.com/product/Nady-HAM4-4-Channel-Headphone-Amp?sku=188716 thanks!
  10. i suspect that the problem here is with my presonus firebox.... but since i've gotten no help elsewhere, i figured someone here might know about this. my firebox is working great except that the audio is only coming out of the right ear of my headphones.... i'm running a macbook w/ os x 10.4.11.... and i know the problem isn't my headphones or the 1/4" to 1/8" adapter because both work well in stereo with my microkorg... when i record in logic, it works fine... i get audio through both of my krk rokit monitors.... only the headphone output seems the problem.... also when i play music through itunes, it sounds great through the monitors but only comes out of the right ear of my headphones.. and i just noticed that when i mess with the headphone volume knob on the firebox, audio cuts in and out of my left ear. i must have a defective firebox? anyone had this problem? i'm on quite a deadline... is there another easy way to monitor using headphones, i.e. perhaps through the line outs on the back of the firebox? any help would be greatly appreciated!
